How to install mods manually (local mods) in Teardown

25 mar 2026 at 13:27

The database of current mods for Teardown is expanding every day. Mod creators are developing many interesting projects: weapons, vehicles, and large-scale maps. Some of them can be installed via the Steam Workshop, but many players prefer local and manual installation. In this guide, we will go over how to manually install mods for Teardown.

Installing Local Mods in Teardown

Installing local mods is very simple. First, choose one of the thousands of current mods for Teardown. After selecting a mod, download the archive. Then follow these steps:

  1. Go to Documents / Teardown / Mods
  2. The downloaded archive should contain a folder with the mod. Move this folder (specifically the folder that contains the mod files) into the Mods folder
  3. The result should look like this: Documents / Teardown / Mods / Folder with the mod name / Mod files (inside there will be a main.lua file)
  4. Done, the mod has been successfully installed!

The job is done, but the mod will not work until it is activated. To activate a local mod, launch Teardown, then:

  1. Click Singleplayer
  2. Go to Mod Manager
  3. Find the Local Files section. The installed mod will be displayed there
  4. Now simply click on the empty circle next to the mod name. The circle should turn yellow. If it does, it means you have successfully activated the mod
  5. All that’s left is to start the game and enjoy the gameplay!
