How to find and defeat all main and side bosses in Lies of P

4 oct 2023 at 21:02

Throughout the story in Lies of P, you will face bosses. Some are mandatory for the plot, and defeating them will help advance the story and move on to the next missions. Others are easier and optional, but still give out valuable rewards and loot for victory. Therefore, we have prepared a detailed guide to all the story bosses you will encounter in Lies of P.

Mad Donkey

Mad Donkey is one of the bosses, for defeating whom you will unlock a costume and mask of the same name. You will encounter him in the story at the end of the bridge, near a looted carriage. The boss looks like a regular NPC, so fighting him will be easier than a huge robot or puppet, which we will discuss next.

The boss has simple attacks – he performs a combo of three hits with a large heavy sword, then briefly stops before the next series. Your task: dodge these attacks or simply block, and when the Donkey swings, strike back.

When the Donkey's health approaches zero, he uses a special attack and charges his sword with electricity. He can attack even from a great distance, so you might not have time to dodge – just block.

Parade Master

Parade Master is a model of a parade puppet and a huge boss that you will meet at the start of the game before you first enter Hotel Krat. The Master will attack you during a festival. His distinctive features are huge clawed hands and glowing red eyes.

Since the boss appears early in the game, he is not the most difficult. But adhering to the following rules will significantly simplify the fight:

  • Step away from the boss and observe all his strikes and techniques from a distance;
  • Focus on agility and stamina. The ideal option is the Path of the Bastard;
  • Do not approach the Master. He delivers devastating blows, so it's better to attack him from a distance using ranged weapons, alternating them with jumps and dashes;
  • The Master delivers 1-2 heavy blows, then takes a break. Block the series of attacks, then strike back. Then block again to avoid taking the next blows. Repeat this pattern;
  • Apart from regular hand attacks, the Master delivers a powerful ground slam with both claws. As soon as you see the enemy start to swing – move aside;
  • Another move used by the Master is a belly slam on the ground. You need to block on time, and when the enemy flounders on his belly, deliver a series of blows. Move away before the Master gets up;
  • After the belly slam, the second phase begins. Now the Master will spin and attack. You can dodge these, but it will be impossible to strike him at this time. Another powerful swing in the air is added – you can either block it or dodge.

The most important thing in fighting the Master: don't rush and deliver accurate blows when the boss recharges his skills. If you make an extra move and don't dodge in time, you'll lose a significant portion of your HP.

Defective Warden

Defective Warden – the third in line and the second puppet boss you will encounter in the story. His distinguishing feature is fast swings and electric shocks, which can confuse new players. The difficulty level rises a bit.

The only thing you need to know: the Defective Warden is practically identical to the Parade Master, delivering similar blows that need to be either blocked or avoided. The fighting principle will also not differ much. The Warden alternates regular fast hand attacks with spinning and a slow wide swing, which you'll recognize as soon as the boss starts to raise his hand. Like the Master, the Warden attacks either with different hands alternately or delivers a powerful blow with both.

The most powerful attack is a double fist ground slam. Stand right under the boss and block when he swings – then nothing will hit you.

Once you lower the boss's health below half, he will start using special electric attacks. Lightning will traverse the ground regardless of whether you hit the boss or not. The best tactic is to dodge. The most dangerous attack in the second phase is a grab. It can be fatal, so avoid it by any means.

In the fight, you will be assisted by a Ghost for the first time. Not that he significantly eases the battle, but he does have his uses. Note that the "support" health is limited, and most likely, he will leave you by the second phase.

King of Puppets

You'll first encounter the King of Puppets in the Estella Opera House at the entrance to the location. He's a huge golden robot with a lavish crown adorned with red crystals – you'll recognize him immediately.

We recommend summoning the Ghost for assistance right at the start of the battle. As soon as the battle with the boss begins, run from the end of the corridor to a wider part of the location. This will make it significantly easier to fight and avoid the boss's powerful initial attack – a spin. Afterwards, there are two possible actions the King might take: he might either repeat the attack or jump back, preparing for another move. In the first case, block; in the second, prepare to deflect the next strike, moving to the side.

The King delivers fast and powerful attacks with both hands, so try not to approach him too frequently.

The main issue with this boss is his agility and nimbleness. He is much more elusive and unpredictable than, say, the Parade Master.

As soon as the boss loses half of his health, the second phase begins, during which we recommend adhering to the following tactics:

  • As soon as the boss kneels down, run up to him and spam attacks as quickly as possible;
  • If the King starts spinning around and creating a whirlwind, don't run away, but instead approach as close as possible to avoid hits;
  • If the boss closes his eyes and starts crying, move out of the center – he will hysterically attack right in front of him;
  • During the second phase, the enemy will perform the same attack twice, so by no means return to the spot where you dodged;
  • Then, the boss executes a series of two blows: 1 – an attack with both hands, which can push you back with a shockwave, 2 – a horizontal strike with stretched arms. If you get hit by the first attack, the boss won't execute the second; but if you successfully dodge, prepare for the second block.

Alas, the battle doesn't end with a victory over the King. Another opponent will appear, and another King of Puppets – Romeo. After the cutscene showcasing the boss's appearance, we recommend sharpening your weapon, which probably got dulled due to constant blocks in the fight against the first King.

The fighting tactics against Romeo are as follows:

  • Romeo attacks with a spear and delivers a series of 3-5 quick strikes. The optimal strategy is to block them, then counter-attack;
  • Romeo is very agile and will constantly jump from different sides. Don't let him catch you off-guard, and move quickly;
  • If you notice that Romeo's eyes glow red – don't attack and move aside. The enemy will execute a combo, then slow down for a while – strike at this moment;
  • Romeo's furious attack consists of a powerful jump, landing, and potentially pushing you back with a blow. The farther you are at this moment, the less damage you'll receive.

Prepare for a lot of dodging and parrying – Romeo is much more agile and versatile than the first version of the boss.

White Lady

Head to the area with the very first Stargazer and interact with the puppet nearby. This will trigger the White Lady's response, and she will appear next to you.

The White Lady attacks quickly and briskly. We recommend adopting a similar tactic. Parry her swift attacks with a block so as not to be stunned.

Essentially, the White Lady is more akin to a mini-boss than a full-fledged one. If you position yourself to her side or behind her, most of her direct frontal attacks will miss. We suggest using a weapon with elemental damage to defeat the enemy faster.

After defeating the White Lady, you'll obtain her costume and mask.

The Mad Clown Puppet

You can find The Mad Clown right after your victory over the White Lady. He will greet you at the entrance to the Estella Opera House.

Visually, the boss is reminiscent of the popular killer clown, Pennywise. He's a red-haired, white-faced chubby character in a suit with red pompoms, and instead of hands, he has spring-loaded projectiles which he will use to attack you.

Before starting the battle, we recommend luring the Clown away from the entrance to a more open space, or else dodging the projectiles will be much more challenging.

The Clown delivers a series of 3 strikes: two alternate projectile attacks and a concluding powerful leap attack. Block them to avoid significant damage. He also uses spinning strikes, which are easiest to simply run away from. The boss is quite aggressive and will continuously attack until you can stun him.

Eldest of The Black Rabbit Brotherhood

Another mandatory boss you'll encounter in the Malum District. The battle will commence as soon as you enter the courtyard.

The gist is that you'll have to face several enemies at once. It somewhat resembles the battle with the King of Puppets, after whose defeat Romeo appears. Here, enemies will rotate as their health decreases:

  1. Eldest. The battle will start with him. This enemy wields a heavy sword and conducts a series of attacks. He takes a long wind-up before the first strike, giving you a chance to counter-attack and interrupt the series. His next attack begins with a sword wind-up - the enemy will deliver 4 powerful strikes in front of him, which you need to block. As soon as the Eldest's health drops to 75%, the next enemy will enter the battlefield;
  2. Younger. She will fight alongside the Eldest. The latter remains on the battlefield but will attack less frequently and only periodically. If you keep distance from the Eldest, he'll start to shout loudly and deliver a leaping strike - you'll recognize this by a distinct loud scream. At this moment, it's better to retreat. The Younger doesn't have a complex combat system - just deflect strikes and counter-attack. The next phase begins when the Eldest's health drops to 60%, regardless of whether the Younger is still alive;
  3. Third. The next foe enters, wearing a bucket on his head. His weapon is a spear, and he's known for swift and agile maneuvers. Similarly to the Younger, parry attacks, deliver counter-strikes, and don't forget about the Eldest. As soon as his health drops to 40%, he will summon the Last of the brotherhood;
  4. Last - an opponent in a rabbit mask. He attacks in bursts, so stay away, preferably moving behind him. Defeat the Last to proceed to the final part of the battle.

In all cases, it's recommended to first deal with the Younger, Third, and Last, to quickly move on to fighting the Eldest.

After defeating the allies, the Eldest's main attacks won't change, but new ones will be added. Now, he will deliver a series of 5 horizontal strikes, finishing with a ground slam that might push you away. Stick to the previous tactics and frequently use a block so that the Eldest breaks his weapon.

Fallen Archbishop Andreus

You'll encounter Archbishop Andreus in the location of the St. Frangelico Cathedral.

The boss mainly attacks in melee and inflicts claw strikes. In the first phase, everything is relatively simple – try to keep your distance, and then most of the attacks will simply miss you. The problem lies in his size – the boss is large, so even though his attacks are close-range, they cover a considerable distance. Before a double-paw strike, he will rise in the air – at this moment, retreat from the boss.

After executing a combo, the Archbishop will pause. This is the perfect moment to spam him with attacks. But the battle won't end after you deplete all his health. The boss will transform, revealing the true image of the Archbishop, not the mutant.

In the second phase, stick to the following tactics:

  • The Archbishop will hover above the mutant, and the attack range will increase. He strikes with a staff – block and parry these attacks;
  • The most dangerous attack occurs when the Archbishop raises his staff, and it glows blue. Try to move as far away from the beam as possible – blocking this attack will be challenging.

To defeat Archbishop Andreus faster, try to move behind him frequently and attack.

Redeemer

The Redeemer is one of the bosses whose defeat is not necessary for a full game completion. There's nothing notable about her, and the fight should be straightforward.

The Redeemer's weapon is a hammer. She attacks with regular and charged strikes. The latter cannot be blocked. Dodging her is easier than constantly staying in block since the Redeemer's attacks quickly follow one another. Her attacks do not change throughout the battle, and there's only one phase.

King's Flame, Fuoco

As you might infer from the name, the boss's element is fire. Hence, we recommend equipping weapons and amulets with resistance and buffs against this element. Do not use fire weapons – they will be entirely useless.

Fuoco's weapon is also a hammer. He mainly delivers powerful close-range attacks, lifting the hammer upwards – this is the moment when you need to block or dodge. If you haven't fully mastered blocking yet, it's better to keep a distance from him. After a series of 3 attacks, strike back to stun the opponent.

Once Fuoco's HP drops to 50%, the second phase begins. The boss will start spreading lava around him, and the entire location will be covered in flames. Your clothing will catch fire, so try to minimize contact with the flames or use special ampoules.

In the second phase, Fuoco switches to ranged combat and mainly attacks with missiles. At this stage, you need to do the opposite – stay as close to the enemy as possible. Note that the spot where a missile lands will instantly be engulfed in flames.
