The Damned is a story mission in Phantom Liberty that starts immediately after the quest "Secrets Sleeper Agent," in which V first meets Solomon Reed, a secret FIA agent and your new partner.

The Damned: Walkthrough

The quest will automatically start after some time. After completing "Secrets Sleeper Agent," Solomon will contact V by phone and arrange a meeting at a hideout – at the bar "The Moth." His former trainee, Alena "Alex" Xenakis, is there. She is supposed to help you in the search for Songbird.

Visit "The Moth"

The bar is located in the Longshore Stacks district. Head there by any convenient means.

Be prepared that Alex won't greet you with open arms. Her service in the FIA left unpleasant memories, and after that, Alex had to return to her ordinary life, even though she dreamt of a different fate.

Take a seat at the bar counter while waiting for Alex. You can have a drink and chat with the bartender (optional). After a while, Reed will call you again. Soon after, he will personally appear in the establishment.

As soon as Alex sees Reed, she will pull out a weapon and aim it at you, realizing the purpose of the visit. You can knock the weapon out of her hands or show a coin – the choice won't matter. Alex will eventually calm down and agree to talk.

Speak with Alex

Overwhelmed by emotions, she will leave the establishment and stop by the staircase. Follow her. Talk to her and explain the true purpose of the visit, assuring that Alex is not in danger. Offer her cooperation and return to the bar to report to Reed about the conversation.

Now you can discuss the next steps together. You will also learn a bit more about what happened between Alex and Reed in the past.

Johnny Silverhand will be standing outside the bar as you leave. He will also give his comments and food for thought.

Head to Slider's Hideout

Wilky "Slider" Laguerre is a strong, yet blind netrunner you will need to neutralize with your teammates. Get a car and head to the marker at the abandoned spa. Upon arrival, take a seat on the nearest bench to wait for Reed and enter the hideout together.

Once inside the building, Solomon will suggest several courses of action. Choose at your discretion, as there won't be a significant difference:

• Try to negotiate with the guards and proceed directly;
• Sneak unnoticed through the ventilation;
• Storm the building head-on.

If you negotiate with the guards

Approach the main entrance and talk to the netrunners. In the conversation, choose the phrase: "You didn't save Mama Brigitte from me, and you won't save Slider either." A fight will ensue, after which you can enter. Alternatively, you can return and choose another way in.

If you go through the ventilation

Exit the building and turn at the fork. Under the canopy, there will be a way up. Pass through the hole behind the scaffolds to find yourself in a ventilation shaft.

Enter the tunnel and move straight until the end. Along the way, you'll encounter traps and security cameras - neutralize them. For this, use the scanner on the "TAB" button. At the end, you'll reach the room where Slider is hiding.

If you storm in

You can start attacking right from the main entrance or resort to this option if you get detected trying to sneak in through the vents. Neutralize everyone you come across in the building on your way to Slider.

Find Slider

Regardless of which path you chose, you'll find Slider. The netrunner will be sitting on the second floor, in the central hall past the yellow staircase. Slider won't resist - you'll receive all the necessary information about The Blackwall.

Eventually, Slider will die without your intervention. At this point, Songbird, whom you hadn't been able to contact earlier, will communicate.

Leave the hideout

Exit the building whichever way is convenient. Thoroughly search the area to not miss any loot or useful notes.

Outside, Reed will inform you about the next destination - the "Black Sapphire" hotel. That's where the action for the next quest will begin.
