Ryujin Industries is a major corporation and one of the playable factions in Starfield. The main character can join it and embark on a chain of 11 quests to earn special rewards.

Playing for this faction provides skill upgrades in Theft, Stealth, and Security, which are very useful in the game and grant access to hidden locations and resources.

How to start the Ryujin Industries quest chain

Ryujin Industries doesn't specifically govern systems and planets. To automatically start the quest chain, head to the city of Neon on the planet Volii-Alpha in the Volii system.

As you walk past the main office of Ryujin Industries, you will hear an announcement. After that, the "Back to the Grind" quest will appear in your quest list, leading you to become acquainted with the corporation.

Find any red touch kiosk that belongs to Ryujin Industries. You will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire and answer some questions – your choices will not affect the outcome. After that, you'll need to return to the Ryujin office and speak with Imogene.

Start a conversation with Imogene, who will ask for a small favor – to bring her a cup of coffee. It sounds simple, but on your way, a former employee, who previously held your position, will attack you. You have two choices: release or kill the guy. Your choice will not affect the quest storyline.

Return to Imogene and hand over her coffee. You will be promoted and entrusted with more complex assignments.

You can immediately start completing the tasks or postpone the mission and take the survey at any other time.

All Ryujin Industries quests: walkthrough

One Step Ahead

Most of Ryujin Industries' missions involve cunning and not entirely legal actions. Imogene will ask you to infiltrate an enemy terminal, hack it, and gain access to secret information.  

You won't have to go far – leave the Ryujin office and enter the building opposite, named Celtcrop. Your task: discreetly approach the terminal using stealth, avoiding being spotted by the local employees. Crouch and move between tables and cabinets. If you don't want to move stealthily, wait until the employees leave the office, but remember, the most exciting part of the Ryujin quests are the skills they teach you.

Be careful! If you're caught, you'll be immediately jailed.

Approach the designated terminal and use the digipick. Download the required data, return to Imogene, and report your work.

Access is Key

Speak to Imogene again. Your next destination is the Astral Lounge in the same city, Neon. You need to hack some files again, but first, talk to Zola Adisa and Arthur Cruz. To correctly answer the questions they'll ask, be sure to read their dossiers given by Imogene in advance. If you don't review them, the correct dialogue options won't appear during the conversation.

Zola can be found on the dance floor on the first floor, and Arthur is on the balcony in the VIP box. Your goal is to persuade them to oppose Ryujin's rivals, Infinity LTD.

Next, you need to replace the files stored behind a locked door in the VIP area. Hack the door using the digipick, replace the data, and return to Imogene.

Sowing Discord

Imogene will send you to the Astral Lounge in Neon again. Your task is once more to hack files, but first, talk to Zola Adisa and Arthur Cruz. To give the right answers, make sure you've read their dossiers, which Imogene will provide beforehand. If you fail to read them, the correct dialogue choices won't appear.

Zola can be found dancing on the first floor, while Arthur is on a balcony in the VIP box. Your mission is to persuade them to stand against Ryujin's rivals, Infinity LTD.

Then, you need to swap out the files located behind a locked door in the VIP area. Break into the door using a digipick, substitute the data, and return to Imogene.

Accidents Happen

Your next target is the Hopetech factory building in Hopetown, on the planet Polvo in the Valo system.

Enter the building. If you've previously completed quests for the Freestar Collective and killed Ron Hope, be prepared for the guards to immediately start shooting at you. You need to either hide from them or simply run past to continue the mission and have the guards leave you be.

Once inside, beware of the guards who are specifically watching for you because of this quest. You'll need to sneak past them unnoticed and board the spaceship on the second floor. Enter the pilot's cabin while one of the guards is distracted and install the transmitter. After completing the task, return to Imogene.

Maintaining the Edge

Imogene will provide you with 2 digital lock picks for the new mission. Head to the Staryard Trident Luxury Lines station, located in the Cheyenne System, near Akila. Be prepared that you might be attacked on your way and you'll have to defend yourself.

Dock with the station and enter using one of the following methods:

• Through the orange locked door;
• Through the ventilation shaft;
• Directly through the room on the lower level.

Use the lock picks to hack the large iron door and the box itself. If you go through the ventilation shaft, you can open the box directly through the grille without entering the room. Retrieve the schematic and deliver it to Imogene.

Top Secrets

Now you can meet the head of Ryujin Industries. Head to the top floor and speak with Maeve Salini, who's seated at a table. After speaking with her, you can arrange a meeting with Ularu.

Proceed to Ularu's office and converse with her. Next, you need to meet with Simon and discuss a new project involving Infinity LTD.

In your conversation with Simon, you'll need to pay, and you'll have several options:

• Pay the full amount – 10,000 credits;
• Convince Simon to reduce the price to 8,000 credits;
• Undertake a side task for Simon and avoid paying any credits.

Note that Ryujin Industries is willing to reimburse you 1,000 credits if you decide to spend. If you take the task, you'll be tasked with destroying an enemy ship, capturing it, and presenting Simon with a weapon taken from the corpse as evidence.

The mission involves a significant choice: siding with Simon or Captain Malai Liskova. You can learn about all possible developments in a separate guide.

Ultimately, you'll strike a deal with Simon and obtain the necessary data. Enter the neighboring office space, hack the computer, download the "Dominion" project data, and return to Ularu.

Background Checks

In the main Ryujin Industries building, head downstairs and converse with Dalton Fiennes. He'll ask you to run a program on Ularu's computer. Make your way through the now-unlocked ventilation system to remain undetected.

At Madame Sauvage's Place, speak with Nyx. To collaborate with him, he'll ask for a payment of 2,500 credits. You can convince him to lower the amount to 1,000 credits or undertake a task to avoid payment altogether.

After speaking with Nyx, you'll need to infiltrate the highest point of the Ryujin Industries tower. Follow the route and ascend using the stairs and construction beams.

Upon infiltrating the room, ensure you utilize stealth and sneak past the guards. Pay close attention to the detection and invisibility indicator in the middle of the screen. If it's white, you're successfully hidden and undetectable; orange signifies risk of detection; red means you've been detected. In the event of detection, it's best to flee quickly to avoid capture and getting into trouble.

In this mission, you'll need to utilize all of your Stealth skills. Hide in shadows, sneak among furniture, and monitor the guards' movement patterns. Once you reach Ularu's office, interact with her computer and copy the data. Exit the Ryujin tower through a nearby ventilation hole.

Return to Nyx's apartment, hand over the data, and then speak with Dalton. After the conversation, the quest will conclude.

Guilty Parties

"Guilty Parties" is one of the most significant story missions, where you have to make a crucial choice: either side with Imogene or conspire with Ularu. A detailed walkthrough of this quest and the consequences of possible choices are discussed in a separate guide.

From Ularu's computer data, you'll discover that Imogene is a traitor. However, to find out if this is true, you need to meet Imogene herself, who's behind a secret door in the Frankie's Grab&Go shop in the city of Neon. Imogene's colleague, Yuko Serrano, will give you directions to the shop.

In turn, Imogene will provide information that the real traitor is Ularu. If you want to side with Imogene, which your companions would approve of, immediately hand over the tablet with evidence of Ularu's guilt to Dalton.

If you want to collaborate with Ularu, speak to her in her office. Even after the conversation, you can still choose to side with Imogene, but it's better to understand Ularu's motives first. If you side with Ularu, you'll have to deceive Dalton and frame Imogene as the traitor.

The Key Ingredient

Speak with Masako (Masako Imada), who will enlighten you about the internal affairs of Infinity LTD and give you a key-card to the KM RC-1 mine station. Head to planet Carinae III-a and dock with the station.

Next, you simply have to clear the location of all enemies. To enter the mine, go to the elevator and descend. In the last room, you'll find a contract – read it.

After acquiring the necessary information, head to the clinic on planet Narion. Speak with Dr. Kendrick Lane and offer him the data in exchange for immunity from Ryujin Industries. To successfully negotiate, use the Persuasion or Medicine skill – depending on which you've developed more.

Collect the package, return to the Ryujin tower, and deliver the data to Masako.

Sabotage

It's time to deal with Ularu. Participate in Dalton's staged speech, and then embark on a quest for evidence of Ularu's guilt. Masako will direct you to speak with Veena at the Neuroamp department. Veena is in the same building – just take the elevator down.

The doctor will perform a procedure and implant a neuroamp in you, allowing you to gain the Manipulation skill. Next, you'll have to try out the new skill by pressing "F". The essence is that you can remotely control other people and even command them.

Return to Masako and discuss the next steps. You need to infiltrate the Infinity LTD building either through the main exit or via the roof. Throughout the mission, you'll constantly use the new Manipulation and Stealth skills. Develop them in advance if you want to complete the task quickly and easily.

Reach Lucas's computer and head to the laboratory. Make one of the guards use the key-card to grant you access to the room, and steal the data. Return to Masako.

Executive Level

"Executive Level" is the final quest in the Ryujin Industries mission chain. You will have to choose: either keep the Neuroamp technology or abandon its development due to potential problems. It's another moral choice that will affect your relationship with companions. Companions will disapprove if you agree to continue the research and use of the technology.

To sway Ryujin Industries members to your choice, you need to recruit each of them and secure half of the votes. At the start, each choice will have one vote "For". It's in your power to change this. To do so, speak with:

• Ularu. Logically, Ularu will be against Masako and will vie for the CEO position. You can change her decision using the Manipulation skill;
• Dalton. His position will be ambiguous, and you'll have to sway him. Use the Manipulation skill if you want to persuade him towards the continued use of Neuroamp;
• Linden (Linden Calderi). He will do as you say – just express your opinion. To convince him that the Neuroamp is dangerous, talk about your own experience and highlight potential risks;
• Alexis (Alexis Pryce). She leans more towards the idea that the risks of using Neuroamp are not justified;
• Veena. She'll be among those who agree to use the Neuroamp, and convincing her otherwise will be the most challenging. If you're interested in an alternative course of events, Veena will easily side with you;
• Genevieve (Genevieve Monohan). She believes investing in the technology is an excellent funding option. If you want to persuade her otherwise, hint at possible legal and financial risks associated with the project's implementation.

Once you've spoken to all members, the survey will conclude. Await all those surveyed in the office, after which a meeting will begin regarding the survey results. If you previously decided to expose Ularu, she will be fired and arrested. The assembly will make a decision based on how many people and which choice you influenced.

Masako will thank you for your significant contribution to Ryujin Industries and grant the final rewards - a new office, and appoint the hero to the position of senior operative.
