Through Pain to Heaven is a storyline quest in the Phantom Liberty expansion, available after completing the quest "The Killing Moon." To unlock access to the mission, in "The Killing Moon," do not kill Solomon Reed and help Songbird (Soika) reach the NUSA authorities. Otherwise, the story will take a different turn, and an alternative mission will begin – Unfinished Sympathy.

Through Pain to Heaven: Walkthrough

A few days later, Solomon Reed will contact you. If you don't want to wait, you can fast forward time.

He will inform you that everything is ready for the operation to remove the biochip with Johnny Silverhand's personality. However, Reed plans to leave Night City soon, so he suggests meeting one last time. He will ask you to meet him at the "CHOOH2" refueling station.

Solomon will be waiting for you near his car. He will mention that he is heading to Washington and still hasn't fully come to terms with his feelings about everything that has happened. He's also curious why Songbird, for whom Solomon used to be a mentor, turned to you for help – essentially a stranger to her. Why didn't she ask Reed for help? It's clear that the agent is genuinely concerned about So Mi's fate. What happened to the girl has been a real loss for him.

Solomon will bid farewell to V, mentioning that everything is ready for the operation, which will begin very soon. As soon as the car with the agent departs, Johnny will appear. He will be concerned about Reed's condition and express fears of possible suicide. Johnny believes that Solomon has lost everything, and he no longer has reasons to hold on to life.

After completing this quest, the next mission in the storyline will begin – "A Quiet Life."
