How to resurrect companions in Baldur's Gate 3

The higher the difficulty level in Baldur's Gate 3, the more often you'll need to resurrect companions. At the beginning, this won't be easy, as in the starting conditions, not all ideas can be implemented, and the training doesn't explain the mechanics. There are several ways that can help revive deceased characters.

Ways to resurrect companions in Bg3

In order to revive an ally, you can use one of 3 methods. They work with the following companions:

  • Will;
  • Halsin;
  • Shadowheart;
  • Lae'zel;
  • Gale;
  • Karlach;
  • Astarion.

When activating the mechanics, special caution is required, as scrolls and spells have their drawbacks.

Applying the revivify scroll

The simplest and most understandable method. Initially, the disposable consumable can be found with all the squad heroes (and the protagonist). Just select the scroll and apply it to the target. In this case, the revived character will be resurrected with 1 HP. This approach prevents the breaking of the game, so resurrection is better to perform after battles in places where there are no mobs nearby.

The scroll cannot be found in the open world; it can only be purchased for 100 gold from a merchant. In order to quickly find the necessary NPC, it is recommended to use interactive BG3 maps.

Applying spells

"Revivify" can be learned by reaching level 5. It can be used by priests (life, light, and deception domains) and paladins. Also, it resurrects a deceased character with 1 HP. Magic can be applied only if it has already been learned by a wizard; the "revivify" itself occupies a 3rd-level spell slot, so the character must be leveled up.

Dialogue with the withered

The withered can be settled in the refugee camp. This is an important character, as he can not only resurrect allies but also change the protagonist's class. Depending on the service, he requires a fee of 100 or 200 coins.

To find the NPC, you need to visit the overgrown ruins located in the "Crash Site". You can make the task easier by taking thief tools and hacking the ancient door with their help.

With a certain amount of luck, the tools will be found in boxes located on the coast.

An alternative is to search for an unlocked entrance, which can be found by bypassing the fortress. After examining most of the ruins, the hero will enter a room where a sarcophagus is located. Interacting with it, the character will awaken the withered. After talking to the NPC several times, the protagonist will learn that he and the dead man will have another meeting in the future, after which it is advisable to go on a "Long rest".

In the camp, you need to inspect the area to find the withered settling in one of the safe zones. You will have to talk to him again, after which you will need to pay 200 gold to resurrect the ally. These are the three main ways that allow you to revive characters in Baldur's Gate 3.

Using assistance and saving throws

Initially, characters do not die, when losing HP, the game rolls a 20-sided die, which will determine whether the hero will live or die. At this moment, the character gets a token of death and life. If the number is less than 10, he dies, but if more than 10 points are accumulated, he will remain alive. With three successful saving throws, the character is revived with a small amount of HP.

To avoid the death of a team member, you can help him. To do this, it is enough to interrupt the dying process by raising the hero to his feet (just move to him and execute the command "Help"). After that, he will rise with a minimum amount of HP but will return to his place in the turn sequence.

Assistance has one disadvantage: it ends the turn sequence. Therefore, it is necessary to think through a strategy and not worsen your position. To save a character, the hero has from one to three moves.
