Relationship Mechanics - an indispensable part of the gameplay. Starfield is no exception and has added the opportunity to build romantic relationships with 4 characters whom you will encounter in the game's story.

How Romance Works in Starfield

Traditionally, to create a family, you need to constantly interact with your companion and develop your relationship: communicate, adapt to their opinions, complete quests, and express affection in various ways.

Once your bond strengthens, you'll have the opportunity to become full-fledged partners. Afterward, your companion will become your family and live with you at your base. Other important things to know about the mechanics:

• Companions will assess your actions and words. For example, if they dislike killings, they may condemn you for brutality and rude behavior, or vice versa, approve;
• To develop your relationship in dialogue, choose personal questions - they will build trust between the characters;
• Every response will affect your relationship with your companion, although the game doesn't provide clear instructions or hints. Therefore, we recommend saving your progress in advance;
• To initiate the development of the romantic relationship, select "Flirt" actions as the dialogue progresses.

All Romantic Partners in Starfield

Sam Coe

Sam is a member of the Constellation, the latest group of space explorers. He is a descendant of Akila Solomon Coe, the founder of the city, and a former Freestar Collective ranger.

Little is known about his character, but one thing can be said for sure - Sam values justice the most and cannot stand the United Colonies. Keep this in mind when talking to him.

Sarah Morgan

Sarah is the Chairperson of the Constellation, a former soldier. You can find her on Jamison, at the Constellation headquarters.

To recruit her to your squad, you'll need to complete the "The Old Neighborhood" quest. After completing the task, Sarah will express her desire to join the main character, despite her loyalty to the Constellation.

Barrett

Determined, daring, and obstacle-blind, Barrett will sympathize with the main character right from the start and respect their actions. He's humorous and just a regular guy.

You can recruit him after the "Back to Vectera" mission.

Andreja

Andreja is quite stern and has endured tough trials, so gaining access to her heart won't be easy. She is currently the only character who won't judge the main character for killing and stealing.

Her current skills are unknown.
