Sarah Morgan: how to start a romance and get married
Sarah Morgan – one of the potential companions and love interests in Starfield. She is the leader of the organization "Constellation," whom you can first encounter in the city of New Atlantis after completing the story mission "One Small Step."
Just like any other companion in Starfield, Sarah has unique interests and preferences that you need to align with to earn her favor. In this guide, you will learn how to interact with Sarah to become a couple with her and potentially get engaged in the future.
How to Recruit Sarah to Your Party
You can recruit the leader of "Constellation" as a companion after completing the quests "The Old Neighborhood." Immediately after finishing the quest, she will offer to become your partner and explore the cosmic expanses together.

Sarah's skills will be useful both for exploring the world and for traveling on your spaceship. But it's not advisable to leave her behind – Sarah is one of the most useful and versatile companions.
How to Earn Sarah's Favor
What She Approves and Disapproves Of
Sarah is fairly principled, just, and kind-hearted. She is a natural leader but not devoid of compassion. Therefore, Sarah will approve of your thoughtful and wise actions, devoid of cruelty and bloodshed. In simpler terms, try not to behead everyone you meet and avoid killing if there's an alternative. Strive to negotiate, make concessions, and use the "Persuasion" skill.
Keep in mind that trying to avoid a fight through deceit won't work. Sarah also condemns theft, pickpocketing, and any form of dishonesty, even if it concerns enemies.
Sarah also appreciates it when you come to the aid of those around you and listen to their requests. And, of course, she will be pleased if you treat "Constellation" respectfully and occasionally praise the organization's actions.
Starting a Relationship
As your relationship with Sarah develops through interactions and conversations, a special button will appear at the end of each dialogue – "Flirt." From this point on, you will become even closer to the heroine, and your relationship will reach a new level.
Keep in mind that full-fledged romantic relationships will only begin after the mission "In Memorian." But until then, you still need to work on earning Sarah's favor.
Choices in Quests
Before the mission "In Memorian," choose the following options in the main storyline quests to win Sarah's favor:
- "All That Money Can Buy" — do not send the thief who stole the artifact to jail. Sarah will appreciate your kindness;
- "High Price to Pay" — fly to the Eye if you want to maintain a romance with the companion;
- "A Tree Grows in New Atlantis" — do not agree to Frush's proposal;
- If you join the Ryujin Industries faction, avoid conflict with Tomo using the "Persuasion" mini-game.
Once you make a choice that Sarah likes, you'll see a notification of approval on the screen.
How to Complete the "In Memorian" Quest and Start a Relationship
"In Memorian" is a side quest given by Sarah after you've improved your relationship level with her. She will talk about her past and her service in the United Colonies army.
As part of the quest, Sarah will ask you to go to New Atlantis and ask her former commander for permission to depart for Cassiopeia I in the Eta Cassiopeia system, where the events she mentions in her story took place.
On Cassiopeia I, you will find an old camp where Sarah lived with her team. It turns out that not all of the mission participants died, and two of them even had a daughter — Sona, with whom you will have a chance to talk and get to know better.
During the quest, you'll find several useful items that will facilitate your exploration of the Starfield world:
- "Nova Galactic Manual 01" — reduces fuel consumption during a reactive jump by 1%;
- "Constellation Guide 03" — reduces stamina (oxygen) consumption during overload.
In the conversation with Sona, to earn Sarah's favor, choose the response option: "Yeah, Auntie Sara will buy you a ship," and the girl will return with you.
After completing the quest, you will be alone with Sarah. She will thank you and suggest having a serious discussion about your relationship. There are two choices available:
- Friendly: "No matter what happens, we'll always be close friends";
- Romantic: "I'm saying I love you, Sarah. Now and forever."
In the first case, your relationship with Sarah will remain at the same level and won't develop romantically. In the second case, which is what you want, you will become a full-fledged couple.
How to Marry Sarah
You won't be able to get married right away, which is quite logical. You'll need some time to develop your relationship with Sarah and interact with her.
Over time, at the end of a dialogue, the option "Commitment" will appear. To get married, you need to:
- Choose the option: "I'd like to spend our future together, forever";
- Then: "I think we should invite your mother."
The wedding won't start immediately — you'll have to wait a little longer. The wedding event "Commitment: Sarah Morgan" will start randomly, so until that time, you can comfortably complete main and side quests.
The wedding will take place on the planet Paradiso. Sarah's mother, whom you invited, will be the witness from the bride's side, and Aja, the former leader of Constellation, will officiate the ceremony.
After the wedding, Sarah will live in your house, and you will go to sleep together. There is no explicit intimacy in Starfield, so there won't be any intimate scenes. However, after each night with your companion, you will receive a useful boost — "Emotional Security," which gives +15% to all experience points gained.
How to Break Up with Sarah
You can end your relationship with your spouse at any time. In the dialogue, choose the response options:
- "How are you feeling about our marriage?";
- "You'll have to forgive me, but our marriage isn't working out.";
- "I'm sorry. It's over" — the phrase that will definitively end the relationship. Before this point, you can still avoid this scenario.
After ending your relationship with Sarah, you can also reconcile at any time.
