How to Deceive Brogan in Starfield and What the Consequences Will Be

You can deceive Brogan and his crew during the dialogue, but only if you have the persuasion skill. To do this, first select the deception option in the dialogue (marked as Lie).

To successfully deceive the pirates, you need to complete a persuasion mini-game. A lot depends on luck, so it's better to save beforehand and in case of failure, reload to try again. Accumulate the required number of points (4) in just three turns, after which Brogan will simply allow you to leave without a fight but will demand that you never return. This is a good option if you're playing as a pacifist.

How to Kill Brogan and What the Consequences Will Be

The second option is to simply kill Brogan and his crew. You'll have to fight them if your character doesn't have persuasion skills. This option can even be considered profitable since you can take some decent loot from the pirates.
