The character Lae'zel in the video game Baldur's Gate 3 is an important secondary character capable of making a significant contribution to the main storyline. She can also become a companion, making it easier to complete certain quests. However, to make Lae'zel available for further interaction, you'll first need to rescue her from a cell.

Location of the Cell

Finding Lae'zel's cell is the most challenging part of the task, as there won't be any markers on the map. As a starting point, consider the crash site of the nautiloid. From there, head north until you pass through a ship. Right after that, turn east. You will find the members of the Tiefling faction there, discussing the sought-after Githyanki.

How to Rescue the Character

There are 2 main methods to rescue the character. The simplest one is a direct attack. You can make the battle easier by destroying the cell with Lae'zel. In this case, she will join the fight. Alternatively, you can engage the enemies on your own. To complete the quest, you need to kill the Tieflings and destroy the cell with the Githyanki.

The second method is deceiving the enemies. To do this, engage them in a dialogue and choose the option "This creature is dangerous. Get out of here, leave her to me!" If you choose this path, the game will initiate a charisma check for your character. You can pass it if you roll a 10 or higher on the dice. When the enemies leave, simply shoot the bottom of the cell to break it.

If You Choose the Side of the Tieflings

Baldur's Gate 3 gives players a choice. Besides rescuing, you can take a hostile path towards Lae'zel. To do this, you can choose the line "Trigger the trap. This creature must die before it harms anyone." In this case, the Githyanki will become hostile. Alternatively, you can simply leave, which will leave her neutral. In the case of killing the character, you can take all their items. As for Lae'zel, she will have with her:

  • A longsword dealing 1d8-1/1d10 damage;
  • Partial Githyanki plate armor, granting 15 armor class. A great choice for the early game;
  • Boots with +1 dexterity;
  • A short bow dealing 1d6+2 damage.
