Teardown Expands: Multiplayer Support Coming in 2025

Swedish studio Tuxedo Labs has officially announced the release of a multiplayer mode for the destructive sandbox game Teardown. The full-fledged multiplayer mode is set to launch in spring 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing cooperative missions, competitive modes, and the trademark chaos players can create together.
At launch, the multiplayer mode will be available exclusively on PC via Steam. Later, the developers plan to release an update for next-gen consoles — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In the new mode, players will be able to form teams, complete missions together, or compete in destructive challenges. Mod support is also expected and will be compatible with multiplayer. The developers have confirmed that access to this new functionality will be free for all current game owners.
Before the official release, the multiplayer will undergo a public testing phase through Steam's experimental branch. This will help identify and fix any bugs before the final version goes live.
Teardown was released in 2022 and quickly gained popularity thanks to its unique destruction physics, sandbox gameplay, and extensive mod support. The addition of multiplayer marks a major milestone in the game's evolution — one that, according to Tuxedo Labs, fans have long been asking for.
