Just like in most other games, a house serves as your primary shelter, providing storage for resources, equipment, weapons, and potential companions. If you decide to improve your relationship with a chosen romantic interest, your family will also live in the house.

How to Buy a House in Starfield

You can acquire a base using in-game currency – credits. We've also provided detailed information on how to obtain credits and what else you can spend them on in another guide.

The second option is to obtain houses and stations by completing quests. Information about this method has been provided by the developers, but there's no specific list of quests and rewards for them yet.

To buy a house, you need citizenship. To achieve this, you must complete missions for the United Colonies faction. After that, a real estate agent will become available, and you can purchase your first house. 

How Many Houses in Starfield

Players will have a choice of 5 main houses in different cities, including:

• New Atlantis;
• Aquila City;
• Neon;
• Sidonia.

This number of properties is not final, and additional ones can be unlocked later on.

How to Get a House at the Beginning of the Game

If you choose the trait "Dream Home" in the character creator, your hero will immediately have a luxurious villa ready for furnishing and living in. The only downside to this method is the debt incurred at the start of the game, amounting to 125,000 credits. Consider whether this investment is worthwhile for you.
