How to land on planet in Starfield

1 sep 2023 at 7:57

In Starfield, there are over 1000 planets and 100 star systems. Each planet is available for exploration and landing at any convenient point. Fast travel and transits are also available if you've previously visited a planet.

Instructions: How to Land on Any Planet

The mechanics are quite simple, but let's go over the basics so you won't have any difficulties during the game:

  1. In the map menu, select the planet you want to go to;
  2. Choose a landing spot: a previously explored point or a new location. Explored locations will be displayed on the map;
  3. Right after the transfer, you'll find yourself at the chosen point and can begin your exploration.
Transitions between planets in Starfield are seamless and presented as animations. The planet's surface and space itself are two different game realities.

So, you can land on a planet either manually by selecting an arbitrary point or using markers. Markers are placed after using the scanner with the F button and indicate important places, landmarks, or "points of interest." These could be caves, outposts, buildings, and more. You can move around the planet on foot or by using a jetpack.

If you've landed at a specific point, it will be marked on the map and available for fast travel to the same location in the future.
