In Starfield, there are 100 levels. Players have found that completing all the main and side quests won't be enough to reach them. According to other information, you need to reach over 300 levels to unlock all character abilities and skills.

You might want to quickly gain access to new missions, achievements, and gameplay features, and for that, you need to level up. In this guide, we'll explore how you can speed up this process and quickly farm experience.

Completing Main Quests

The most obvious method you'll be resorting to one way or another is completing main quests. Try not to get distracted by side missions, as they give much less experience.

Quality Sleep

Sleep is one of the most important mechanics for gaining experience. If your character rests on the base in a timely manner, they will receive the "Well Rested" boost after each awakening, providing a +10% experience bonus.

Avoiding Penalties and Arrests

If you engage in unlawful activities and get caught by security, you may lose some experience. To prevent this, avoid theft in crowded places, don't kill local residents, and if you accumulate fines, remember to pay them off.

Killing Mobs

The best option if you enjoy action. Select a planet with rich fauna, find a group of mobs, and engage in combat. The more enemies you defeat, the more experience you'll gain. Battles are one of the most effective farming methods. 

Exploring and Discovering New Zones

Don't forget to travel in open space and discover new planets. For each new location and scan, you'll receive a significant experience boost.

Romance with a Companion

Romantic relationships with a partner, especially marriage, provide another bonus, replacing the sleep bonus - "Emotional Security" with +15% to all experience points every time you go to sleep together with your spouse.

Alien Tea

An special recipe that provides a temporary experience boost of +1% for 15 minutes. The boost may be small, but it's noticeable if you constantly consume a new portion and refresh the effect. 

Using Cheat Codes

If you're too lazy to spend a lot of time gaining experience, you can simply use the command console and enter a cheat-codes:

1. Press "~" (on PC) to open the console;
2. Enter the command: "player.setlevel [level]," where you should specify the desired number for "level";
3. Confirm the action by pressing "Enter."

Try not to chase levels but enjoy the gameplay and unique atmosphere of Starfield. Experience will accumulate over the course of the game, and reaching level 100 only awards one achievement - "Reach for the Stars."
