The best mods for Starfield for September 2023
It's been almost a month since the official release of Starfield, and most players have completed the entire storyline, some even multiple times. During this time, many mods have appeared that add variety to the gameplay and simplify it. We've compiled a selection of the best mods for September that you can download from our site.
StarUI Inventory
As you progress through the game, your inventory will fill up with resources and items, making it increasingly challenging to sort through and navigate. This mod simplifies the original inventory menu. New categories with item and weapon information have been added, along with more stats and convenient sorting - you won't get lost anymore.
Hide Spacesuit in Breathable Areas
In Starfield, characters traverse open space in spacesuits and only remove their helmets in areas with breathable air. Companions do the same, following the character during travels and missions.
This mod alters this mechanic, allowing you to completely remove the spacesuit, including the helmet, in all areas with available oxygen. Companions will follow your example. According to the author, the mod is experimental and may occasionally cause the character to remove the spacesuit even when not required.

Console Command Runner
This mod is designed for players who enjoy using cheats. Install it if you're tired of launching the console and repeatedly entering the same commands every time you start the game. Cheats will activate as soon as you reach the game's main menu.
Faster Airlock and Hatch Animations
Throughout the game, you'll come across locked doors and hatches. Before opening, a slow animation plays, attributed to the heavy and airtight construction of space doors. This mod rectifies this convention and speeds up the animation. We're confident that this will save you a couple of in-game hours.
At the highest speed setting, x50, doors will open instantly. Note that the mod only changes the animation, and the duration of the accompanying sound remains the same. The author has similar mods for adjusting the animation speed of various items, which you can explore here.

SavrenX HD Crowd Optimized
Tired of unremarkable, plastic-faced NPCs? Download this mod, which replaces the face textures for all crowd characters, making them more detailed and unique. The author has put in considerable effort, and the mod looks very high-quality.
The Eyes of Beauty - Starfield Edition
Another mod that allows you to diversify the appearance of the main character. This modification alters the eye texture, making it richer and higher quality. You may be familiar with this mod from previous versions for Skyrim and Fallout.
Various eye texture options are available, including completely white undead eyes. The author recommends keeping an eye out for updates, promising that the pack will continuously receive new color variants.

Stealth Overhaul
As in most similar games, Starfield features a Stealth mechanic. This may come in handy for discreetly eliminating enemies or pickpocketing NPCs. But if you feel that stealth in Starfield is too challenging, you can use this mod, which affects the sensitivity and attentiveness of NPCs. They will pay less attention to your footsteps, have reduced visibility, and the main character becomes much quieter when moving at a run.
Better Visible Magazines
To upgrade your abilities and gain additional buffs, skill magazines are scattered throughout the world of Starfield. Typically, they can be found on tables, crates, and may blend into the environment. They are very easy to miss and difficult to locate again if you don't revisit the same location multiple times.
With the Better Visible Magazines mod, all magazines will be highlighted with a subtle green color and become more noticeable. Now you won't miss them for sure.
Baka Disable My Games Folder
By default, all Starfield mods are installed in the game folder: Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data. This modification completely disables this folder, and now all mods and other files that usually reside in Documents are moved to a different unified path: Steam/SteamApps/Common/Starfield.
The essence of this is that you significantly simplify the installation of modifications.
Baka NPCs Always Drop Their Equipped Armor
Another mod from the same author. With it, you can loot not only items, credits, and other trifles from NPCs but also armor.
There is a nuance: the mod mistakenly duplicates some in-game events. For example, players report looting two helmets or spacesuits from one NPC simultaneously, items duplicating in shops with vendors, and so on. The bug occurs randomly, and we hope it will be fixed in new versions of the mod.

Hold To Equip Extended
In Starfield, you can interact with an item only after picking it up into your inventory. You have to perform a series of actions: first, pick up food in the inventory, then open this inventory, find the item, and finally, press the interaction button. This mod fixes this system and allows you to eat food/study journals/heal with medkits directly from the place where the item is without going to the inventory. Just hold the interaction button.
Craftable Ammo and Utilities
In the vanilla version of Starfield, there is no possibility to craft ammunition, weapons, and many other items at the workbench. With the Craftable Ammo and Utilities mod, you will unlock new recipes and be able to create lockpicks, certain types of ammunition, and medkits by yourself. There are also similar mods for compact HUD parts from the same author.
StarUI HUD
A large and important mod that allows you to change all HUD widgets. You can completely change the arrangement of items in the game to your liking, repaint them, or disable them entirely. There are too many options and possibilities to list – try it in your own game.
Starfield HD Reworked Project
A global retexture that changes the appearance not only of characters but also of the entire environment – landscapes, buildings, roads, walls. NPCs and crowd characters have been changed, and visual effects have been reworked. The project is not finished, and additions to existing features are planned. At the same time, the mod does not impact performance, maintaining it at a high level.
VBB (Voluptuous Body for Beauties) - New Proportions for Female Characters
Visually, Starfield looks like a rather modest game where the main character with their companion can't even kiss and truly get close, and all characters are dressed and look modest. Sometimes, this can get boring.
The VBB mod changes the appearance of female characters. They get a six-pack, more expressive and detailed body shapes, plus glossy highlights on the most intimate places. It will look great in combination with the nudity mod.

Compact Crafting UI
If we previously discussed a mod that changes the inventory menu interface, Compact Crafting is designed for the crafting menu. Visibility of items has been increased, and a dark theme has been added. The interface is more compact and intuitive.
SavrenX HD NPC
Another retexture for non-playable characters, including companions. Faces are less blurry, facial features like eyebrows, eyelashes, stubble, and wrinkles are more defined and detailed. It looks very appealing and realistic.
KiLoader
If you constantly use or even create mods yourself, use KiLoader. The platform will speed up and simplify the loading of all necessary plugins. The main advantage is that the program automatically tracks errors and checks compatibility with other mods.
Underwear for Female
You can use this as an addition to the mod for voluptuous body shapes. Underwear for Female offers a pack of erotic lingerie for your female characters. A leather embossed set in three colors: black, white, and brown.
