There is a rather obscure bug that causes some NPCs to simply ignore you when you are in werewolf form. They are not hostile, and sometimes even friendly. This was not intended by the developers, as all NPCs should attack when the hero transforms into a beast. The Ring of Hircine is a very powerful artifact for werewolves, but for those who don't use transformation, or use it rarely, the artifact doesn't bring any benefit. The mod for Skyrim SE adds a new effect to this artifact, to give some bonuses in the form of a human. The hero can still transform twice into a werewolf, but now he also gets passive bonuses in the form of 25 additional health, 50 units of stamina, and health and stamina regeneration increased by 25%.
