Where to Find Coal in Palworld

Distinguishing coal from other types of ore is not difficult. Deposits look like large black angular stones, often located individually or at a short distance from each other. The main mining areas are on the green western island and in the center of the desert. In the latter location, coal is particularly abundant, and it's much easier to spot against the backdrop of desert landscapes. 

Main points:

1. Near the spawn of Anubis pal;
2. Close to the teleportation point Deep Sand Dunes;
3. On Hypocrite Hill;
4. At Investigator's Fork;
5. In the area of the Remote Fishing Village;
6. On the Beach of Everlasting Summer. 

Several large coal deposits can be found in these locations. Be attentive to collect all the pieces. The resource can also be found in caves and shrines. There's the least amount in the volcano location - go there as a last resort if you run out of resources in the main locations. 

How to Mine Coal in Palworld

For mining coal, as with any ore, you'll need a pickaxe. The item can be crafted at the workbench, spending Technology Points to learn the crafting recipe. The item is available from level 1. After obtaining coal, you can create a Refined Metal Pickaxe, available at level 34, which is faster at dealing with ore deposits. 

Equip the pickaxe, approach the deposits, and interact with them. The mined coal goes directly into your inventory. 

What Is Coal Used For

At the start of the game, you won't be able to use coal. But over time, it will be needed to craft stronger armor and durable tools from refined ore. Items you'll be able to craft include:

• Refined Metal Pickaxe;
• Refined Metal Axe;
• Ultra Spheres - a type of Pal Sphere;
• Assault Rifle.
