CS: GO has released a long-awaited update that brought very good news for many players.

In the late June 3rd update, Valve released a 18 MB patch that made significant changes to the team selection rules. From now on, you can enable the no-rank mode without losing experience points (and thus not adding).

Before this update, CS: GO players were forced to play on the rating to be able to get into competitive 5v5 mode.

Rank restrictions in CS: GO have been removed as Valve has introduced no-ranking matchmaking

In its latest blog post, Valve talked about the new no-ranking matchmaking system in CS: GO and explained how the no-ranking team selection works.

Description of the new mode in CS: GO:

  • Team selection in this mode will be done as usual, but without rank restrictions (Silver can play with Gold, etc.)
  • For now, three maps are available for no-rank mode: Ruby, Breach, Seaside.
  • You will not lose experience after the match, nor will you earn it.
  • You still have a chance to get banned in this mode, using cheats.
  • It is likely that such maps as Dust2, Inferno and Mirage will not support the no-ranking mode of CS: GO.
