The Rift is a highly anticipated location for many players, belonging to the Liyue region. Since version 2.6, players have had the opportunity not only to explore the outskirts of the Rift but also to venture into the depths of its endless mines. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock the Rift in Genshin Impact and complete the quest called "The Secret of the Crystalline Rocks of Cuijue."

Where is the Rift located and how do you get there?

The Rift is located to the left of Liyue, and you can see the exact location on the map below. The easiest way to reach the mines is through a path situated between the Tomb and the Lindju Pass. To enter the mines, you need to start and complete the quest "The Secret of the Crystalline Rocks of Cuijue."

To start the quest that helps unlock the Rift, head to the NPC named Mu Ning. Mu Ning is located near one of the teleportation points, marked with a symbol in the screenshot below. Once the quest is activated, you will see a chain of quests related to the world quest "Records of Journeying into the Rift."

Follow the in-game marker until you reach a girl named Ji Xuan. Talk to her and complete the following simple missions, which do not require complicated explanations. Eventually, you will receive a task that involves destroying a crystalline rock barrier.

How to destroy a crystalline rock barrier in Genshin Impact?

First of all, find the crystalline rock barrier. It looks like a peculiar Geo structure consisting of several parts: Geo stones with beams (which you need to hit and activate) and a floating Geo pillar to which you need to direct those beams. To be able to hit the stone with the beams, you need to activate a special Geo construct called a Geogranum (see instructions below).

After completing the first task, you will be assigned to destroy several more identical barriers. You need to destroy them following the same principle—nothing new or complicated, it will be quite straightforward! Return to the girl, and she will give you a map with hints.

Instructions for those who haven't figured it out:

1. Break the Geogranum and activate the construct by approaching it.

2. Hit in the direction where you want to direct the beam (which means you need to face the Geo pillar).

First of all, you will need to destroy 3 crystalline rock barriers (all of them will be marked on the map).

You will quickly destroy the northern barrier—repeat what you did earlier. The other two barriers are located in the deep mines. Start activating the stones from the top to the bottom, descending to a lower level with each stone. Once you succeed, return to the girl who will give you the final task—activate the last barrier. The necessary construct is located in the mines beneath the Statue of The Seven, and it will be marked on your map.

That's it! After completing the final barrier, head to the NPC girl, and then to Mu Ning. Afterward, you will receive the achievement "When the Seal is Broken..." and a new quest called "The Beginning of Deep Exploration."
