The Witcher 3 Next Gen: all console commands and cheat codes
The Witcher 3 – a classic in the gaming industry that gamers and fans of Andrzej Sapkowski's atmosphere return to year after year. Developed by the Polish studio CD Projekt RED, the project was last updated in December 2022. The developers added several innovations: improved graphics, textures, the introduction of technologies such as FSR, DLSS, refinement of the surrounding world, nature, and much more.
In this collection, you can familiarize yourself with all the current cheat codes and console commands for the latest version of The Witcher 3, including those from the latest DLCs and developer updates.
All Cheat Codes
For some cheats, you need to specify the numbers 1 and 0 to activate and deactivate the command, respectively. The numbers are entered after typing the cheat code name.
Appearance
Commands that change Geralt's appearance:
- Ciri – play as Ciri;
- Geralt – switches the character back to Geralt;
- shave – removes the beard;
- setbeard – restores the beard;
- settatattoo 0-1 – removes/adds the tattoo from the "Hangover" quest;
- addHair1 – sets Geralt's default hairstyle available at the start of the game;
- addHair2 – sets a ponytail with shaved temples;
- addHair3 – sets long, loose hair;
- addHairDLC1 – sets non-long loose hair from the DLC;
- addHairDLC2 – sets a ponytail with shaved temples from the DLC;
- addHairDLC3 – sets the "rebel elf" hairstyle;
- setcustomhead – allows you to set a custom head for Geralt;
- removecustomhead – cancels the previous cheat code;
- WitcherHairstyle – sets a hairstyle of one of the types: 1, 2, 3, depending on the entered number;
- setbeard – sets Geralt's beard from 0 to 0.4 (from smooth to long).
Level and Skills
Codes for leveling up skills, experience, and instant buff application:
- Drunk – enables/disables "Drunk mode";
- Learnskill + ID – automatically fully learns the skill with the specified ID;
- Healme – fully restores health;
- addabl + ID – adds a buff with the specified ID;
- rmvabl – removes all buffs;
- buffme + ID – applies the specified buff for a certain duration;
- setlevel (up to 100) – levels up the character to the specified level;
- likeaboss – activates a mode where the damage from each hit will be 40% of the enemy's maximum health level (disable – enter again);
- Cat – enables/disables the ability for the character to see in the dark;
- cleardevelop – restarts Geralt, clears the inventory, sets the level to 1, and provides starting equipment;
- addexp – adds the specified amount of experience.
Map and Teleportation
Codes for movement, teleportation, and map interaction:
- ShowPins – shows all marked places on the map, 1 – show markers, 0 – hide;
- AllowFT – enables/disables (1/0) fast travel from any point on the map;
- gotoProlog – teleports the character to the summer White Orchard;
- gotoPrologWinter – teleports the character to the winter White Orchard;
- ShowAllFT – reveals all fast travel signs on the map;
- gotoSkellige – teleports the character to the Skellige Islands location;
- xy (X, Y) – moves the character to the specified coordinates X and Y;
- gotoWyzima – teleports the character to the royal castle in Wyzima;
- ShowKnownPins – shows (1) or hides (0) all places on the map marked with a "?" sign;
- gotoKaerMohren – teleports the character to the Kaer Morhen location;
- gotoNovigrad – teleports the character to the Novigrad location.
Money and Items
Cheat codes to get any amount of crowns and items:
- additem – adds an item with the specified ID to your inventory;
- removemoney – removes the specified amount of money from the account;
- witchcraft – adds 1 of each existing item in the game to the inventory;
- addkeys – adds all existing keys in the game to the inventory;
- addmoney – adds the specified amount of money to the balance;
- removeitem – removes the specified item from the inventory.
NPC Codes
Codes that allow you to control NPCs and unlock additional interactions:
- killall – kills all nearby enemies, you can specify the distance within which enemies should be destroyed in parentheses;
- instantMount – summons a horse and instantly mounts the character on it;
- spawn + ID – creates an NPC with the specified ID, true – hostile NPC, false – friendly;
- SpawnHorse – summons a horse;
- appearance – changes the appearance of the selected NPC to the appearance of an NPC with the specified ID;
- spawnBoatAndMount – spawns a boat with Geralt instantly boarding it;
- dismember – dismembers, but does not kill the selected NPC. Works only with characters that can be engaged in combat.
Time and Weather
Codes that affect weather, precipitation, and in-game time:
- makeitrain – calls for rain;
- stoprain – stops the rain;
- TM (number) – sets the time multiplier to the specified number in parentheses: 0.5 – half as slow, 2 – twice as fast, 1 – standard time;
- changeweather + ID – changes the weather in the world to the weather type with the specified ID;
- settime – sets the in-game time to the specified time in parentheses in the format of days, hours, minutes, seconds separated by commas.
Camera and Interface Control
Commands that change camera position and display interface:
- ToggleCameraAutoRotation – enables/disables automatic camera rotation;
- testunpause – takes the game off pause;
- fadeout – darkens the screen, as in cut-scenes;
- fadein – removes the darkening caused by the "fadeout" command;
- dlgshow – hides the graphical interface of the game;
- dlghide – restores the graphical interface of the game.
Monsters and Characters
Commands that open the full bestiary and glossary:
- activateAllGlossaryBeastiary – adds descriptions of all monsters to the bestiary;
- activateAllGlossaryCharacters – adds descriptions of all characters to the glossary.
Gwent
Cheat codes for the card game Gwent:
- winGwint (true/false) – instant win or lose, respectively;
- secretgwint – starts Gwent anywhere;
- addgwintcards – adds all Gwent cards.
How to Open the Console and Use Cheats in The Witcher 3 Next Gen
To use cheat codes in the game, follow the instructions:
- Locate the "base" folder. Path for the licensed game: Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base;
- Path for the pirated game: D:\Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\bin\config\base»;
- Open the "general.ini" file with Notepad;
- Enter the command: DBGConsoleOn=true. Save the changes with Enter;
- Launch the game and press "~" to activate the console;
- Enter the cheat and confirm the action by pressing Enter.
