Hospital in The Sims 4 is a special in-game lot located outside the towns. You cannot simply arrive or enter it. It was introduced with the Get to Work expansion pack for the doctor career. When a Sim takes an active job, at the beginning of the workday, you can choose to either follow them or send the character on their own. By selecting the first option, players could access the hospital location and become acquainted with this place for the first time.

Where is the hospital located

Essentially, the hospital is part of Willow Creek. At the time of the "Get to Work" expansion release, there were only three towns, including Oasis Springs and Magnolia Promenade, a shopping district. The surroundings of the hospital are more reminiscent of Willow Creek.

How to get to the hospital

Cases in which your character can go to the hospital:

• During pregnancy and childbirth. Click on a Sim and select "Have Baby at Hospital." The pregnant Sim will go to the facility on their own or with their partner. You can accompany them by using the "Join" button or send them on their own.
• If you chose the doctor career. You can visit the hospital during working hours. It's not necessary to do this every time, as there is a fixed number of active shifts required for promotion. On all other days, you can send your Sim to the "rabbit hole."

During childbirth

Once the pregnancy reaches its due date, the Sim will start giving birth. The option to go to the hospital adds a level of gameplay realism, but in reality, you can simply buy a bassinet and have the baby at home.

After selecting "Have Baby at Hospital," you can follow your character and witness the childbirth process. The Sim will check in at the registration desk and go to the doctor's office for the delivery. The process is relatively short, taking only a few minutes of real-time. Exception: bugs. Very often, when the game is overloaded with mods and additional content, players may experience infinite or extended childbirth. Waiting or resetting the Sim can help with this.

The second parent will stand by and amusingly panic during the childbirth process. After the baby is born, the Sims can leave the hospital and go back home. If desired, you can stay, for example, if you want to customize the building yourself.

Doctor Career

If your Sim is not employed, go to the "Careers" tab and click "Join a career." Alternatively, you can do the same on the phone or computer. Choose a doctor career and confirm the action.

Now, your character will go to the hospital on workdays. Whether you follow them or stay at home is your choice. The Sim will complete the workday on their own if you sent them alone. However, as a rule, active shifts help you earn promotions more quickly, increase work efficiency, and earn more, especially if you finish the day with a gold medal.

How to edit the hospital in The Sims 4

You can customize the hospital as you see fit: add decor, new furniture, rearrange patient rooms, create a relaxation room, and more. Here's how to do it:

1. Open the cheat console by pressing Ctrl+Alt+C;
2. In the console, type "testingcheats true" and press Enter;
3. Enter the code to enable building edit mode: "bb.enablefreebuild";
4. Optionally, you can activate "bb.moveobjects on" to place objects without restrictions and grid snapping.

Now you can make changes to the existing hospital or completely replace it with a new building. Keep in mind that the room should have all the necessary items, equipment, beds, and staff furniture to make the lot active and functional without errors.

Be careful with bb.moveobjects on. Placing some objects too close to each other may block access to them. It would be unfortunate if a doctor couldn't reach the beds or medical equipment.
