The Life & Death expansion has turned the afterlife in The Sims 4 into a full-fledged gameplay playground. Now you can not only scare the living while being a ghost, but also build a career as a Reaper, study thanatology, and even be reborn. So you don’t have to spend dozens of hours grinding levels and ability points, we have gathered all the working cheats in one guide.

How to Enable Cheats in The Sims 4

Before entering commands related to death or immortality, you need to open the developer console:

• On PC (Windows): Ctrl + Shift + C
• On Mac: Command + Shift + C
• On consoles: Press and hold all four triggers at the same time (L1+L2+R1+R2 / LB+LT+RB+RT).

After the white bar appears, enter the main command: testingcheats true and press Enter. The magic of cheat codes is now active!

Skill Codes (Thanatology and Medium)

The new expansion introduces two key skills. The maximum Thanatology level allows a Sim to better understand death, while Medium skill lets them communicate with spirits.

• Max Thanatology (Level 10): stats.set_skill_level Major_Thanatology 10
• Max Medium Skill (Level 5): stats.set_skill_level Minor_Medium 5

Reaper and Undertaker Careers

Want to quickly climb the ranks in the Department of Death? These commands will instantly grant you a promotion.

• Promotion in the Reaper career: careers.promote Reaper
• Promotion in the Undertaker career: careers.promote Undertaker
• If you change your mind (Demotion): replace promote with demote in the codes above.

Ghost Cheats and Abilities

Becoming a ghost can now be done intentionally. If you want to turn your Sim into a spirit or grant them ghost experience points, use the following commands:

• Instantly turn a Sim into a ghost: traits.equip_trait trait_Ghost_GrimReaper
• Add 100 ghost experience points: stats.set_stat rankedStat_Ghost_Grasp 100
• Remove ghost state (revive): traits.remove_trait trait_Ghost_GrimReaper

Traits and Rewards

To avoid completing long lifetime goals, simply assign the required bonuses to your character:

• “Reaper Connection” trait: traits.equip_trait trait_ReaperFriend
• “Incorporeal” trait: traits.equip_trait trait_Ghost_Incorporeal
• Reward trait for completing the “Ghost Explorer” aspiration: traits.equip_trait trait_GhostExplorer_Reward
