It is an arena where you have to attack and kill monsters within a certain time. The faster you deal with the enemies, the better reward you will receive.

Unlocking the Mercenaries Mode

First and foremost, you need to complete the entire storyline of the game. Those who have played previous installments of the franchise know that it has always been the case.

After finishing the story in RE8, go to the menu and select the "Bonuses" submenu, then choose "Bonus Shop". In this menu, purchase the game of additional value, and after that, the Mercenaries mode will become available to you.

All about the Mercenaries Mode in Resident Evil Village

Once you enter the mode, your character will find themselves in Dimitrescu Castle near the Duke's Emporium. The merchant will provide you with all the necessary equipment and weapons. The arena doesn't have to be an improvised location; it can be created within an existing map.

When you enter the arena, keep in mind that the more and faster you kill enemies, the higher the reward will be. At the end of the challenge, you will receive a rank based on the points you have accumulated.

Obtaining the lightsaber in Resident Evil Village

Initially, only one stage will be available to you, but the higher your rank, the more locations you will unlock for battles. For example, to access the Castle location, you need to achieve an "A" rank in the previous location.

Each stage will consist of three zones. Let's use the Village as an example to explain how it will look: first, the battles will take place in the cemetery, then near the lycan stronghold, and finally in the west of the village.

Tips for Playing Mercenaries

• The mode allows you to track the HP of your enemies, use this to conserve ammunition;
• Movement is life, and it applies to the game as well. You need to constantly keep moving to discover a lot more useful items;
• Blue orbs can grant you one selectable ability;
• Yellow orbs add 30 seconds of game time to the arena;
• Collect all the money that drops from enemies, as it will be useful later on;
• Not all monsters will become available at once, so it's worth exploring all zones in order;
• Try to eliminate groups of enemies at once to earn game points faster;
• To exit a zone, you need to kill at least 50% of all enemies.
