Will there be a co-op mode in Resident Evil: Village?

The cooperative mode has been a significant part of the Resident Evil franchise for a long 25 years in the gaming industry. Although this mode was not a mandatory aspect of every game in the series, many users have become accustomed to the ability to play in teams.

However, with the release of Resident Evil 7 in 2017, the situation changed slightly as Capcom took a different approach to game development. The creators made the sequel more challenging both technically and systemically, giving the game more tasks and survival opportunities.

Unfortunately for cooperative mode fans, this meant that Capcom had to put the joint mode on the backburner as a strong emphasis would hinder the new gameplay processes. Since Resident Evil Village is a direct continuation of Resident Evil 7, this may happen again.

Will there be cooperation in Resident Evil Village?

Let's start with the main point - there was no option to play in co-op mode at the time of the demo's release! However, it may appear a little later, namely during the actual gameplay.

In Resident Evil Village, there should be three main heroes (again, judging by the leaks). For example, a heroine named Emily, whom you can use as your character in the village and play from her perspective. The girl is in search of her father, and at a certain point in the game, she must join forces with Ethan. This will likely lead the player to separate storylines, where one player plays as Ethan and the other as Emily.

While a traditional partner may seem somewhat unrealistic and far-fetched, as Ethan has mostly traveled alone, the game could replicate Ada Wong's story in RE 6. Many remember the faceless character "Agent," who was later added to the game as Ada's cooperative partner.

"Agent" could be an AI-controlled character or any other online player. Resident Evil Village may introduce a similar mysterious character as Ethan's cooperative partner to enhance the gameplay.
