In this guide, we will tell you how to uncover the mystery of the Dartmoor murder in Hitman 3.

If you want to feel like a real detective, you definitely need to complete this quest. Let's get started!

Investigating the Murder at Thornbridge Manor

So, a tragedy occurred at Thornbridge Manor. A certain Zachary Carlisle - Alexa Carlisle's brother - was killed, and he is the target of Agent 47 in this quest.

To investigate the tragic incident, the girl hired a private detective named Phineas Whitmer, whom you need to neutralize (to take his disguise and thus gain access to the mansion).

To easily deal with him, enter the mansion and wait for the moment when Whitmer is alone (approximately after his conversation with the staff).

After assuming the role of the detective, you will be greeted by the owners of the house, who will provide you with all the necessary information. From this moment on, the investigation is considered open.

Examining the Crime Scene: Searching for Clues

Fernsby will take you to the room of the deceased brother, whose body is still in bed. Next, we need to find 6 clues:

- Zachary's body, which needs to be scanned with a camera;
- a will (possibly fake);
- the boy's laptop;
- a bottle of alcohol and a glass;
- a floor plan of the mansion.

 You need to activate Agent 47's Instinct and enter the room located to the left of the entrance.

Approach the bookshelf and pull the highlighted book. This will open a secret passage to a hidden room with a peephole.

The Alibis of Family Members at Thornbridge Manor

Now we need to gather alibis from all the guests who were present at Alexa's fake funeral. Take the list of potential killers from Mr. Fernsby, but it turns out that Fernsby himself does not have a reliable alibi.

Then go to the ground floor of the map and find the dining room. Enter it:
- you will meet Edward Carlisle, playing a musical instrument;
- ask him directly about his alibi;
- ask about the deceased;
- ask if he noticed anything strange.

Follow the same procedure with the following characters: Gregory Carlisle (the eldest child), Emma Carlisle (the spouse), Rebecca Carlisle in the guest room. Then you can find Gregory and Patrick (Emma's child) in the trophy room.

After gathering the information, open the menu and go to the Suspects tab. There you will see that Gregory and Edward have identical stories, meaning their alibis can be considered truthful. Perform the same analysis for other characters.

Gathering Clues Throughout the Manor

In order to find out more about Patrick's alibi, we need to get to the servants' quarters (southeast part of the manor). He claimed that he spent the whole night with a girl named Rosie. In the room, you will find a weeping girl who will confirm the man's alibi.

Now we need to confirm the alibis of the remaining suspects: Emma, Gregory, Rebecca, and Fernsby. We'll have to infiltrate their rooms and offices, as well as search the staff room and the greenhouse on the premises.

You can break into them using a crowbar, one of which you can find outside the manor.

Finding and Breaking into Rebecca's Room

You will find Rebecca's room on the first level of the map, on the second floor of the mansion. Take the crowbar and use it to break open the door.

Do this quickly, as there will be 2 NPCs nearby. Choose a moment when they are away. Also, act swiftly inside the room, as sometimes a maid approaches the door.

Inside, find 2 clues:
- Rebecca's notebook (analyze the handwriting);
- computer (find confirmation of the alibi).

Emma and Gregory's Rooms

You will find the required rooms on the northwest of the first level.

You can enter without breaking in: go outside, move carefully along the ledges, and climb onto the balcony.

Inside, find 6 clues: a keychain, a cane, footprints and shoes, a letter from Emma's mother.

Mr. Fernsby's Office

Go back downstairs, specifically to the southeast of the manor. The office we need is next to the staff room. Use the crowbar to break open the door and enter.

Inside, find 3 pieces of evidence:

- Fernsby's medicine (possibly used for poisoning), although it is not the murder weapon for Zachary;
- Fernsby's list;
- by the fireplace, find the barely surviving diary of the deceased.

Searching for Clues in the Greenhouse

You can access the greenhouse behind the manor with the keychain you found in Emma's room. Break open the passage with the crowbar, making sure there is no security nearby.

Inside, find 2 clues:

- special equipment used to create poison;
- a chart with poison dosages.

Solve the Murder

With all the gathered information, return to the butler and talk to Alexa. When you enter the threshold of the woman's office, she will ask you about your conclusions.

Next, you will be presented with the following options for solving the crime: if you have excluded the deceased from the list of suspects, you cannot accuse him. That leaves Emma and Fernsby, for whom we have found sufficient evidence.

For the true killer of Zachary and how to choose the secret ending of the mission, read here.

Regardless of your choice, the woman will ask about the desired reward. There are two options:

- Ask her to compensate you with payment if you haven't received the case from the safe yet.
- If you have already received it, ask her to send the bill.

And that's it, the case is solved!
