The release of the new region - Fontaine - is getting closer, and HoYoverse starts to introduce new characters, ready to guide the Traveler through the Hydro kingdom. In the 4.0 update, one of the new heroes, Freemine, was officially introduced in Genshin Impact - he is a respected diver in Coeur-de-la-Fontaine. This game character possesses epic rarity, a Cryo Eye of God, and a two-handed sword which, judging by the poster, is a bell sword. Most likely, he will appear in banners in the second half of patch 4.0 in early September.

Freemine is the younger brother of the well-known illusionist mages from Fontaine, Lini and Linett, who will also be introduced in patch 4.0. Unlike his famous relatives, he prefers to avoid public attention, as the views, reactions, and comments of others disrupt his breathing rhythm. Hence, he values solitude in the sea more.

According to videos published online, it is Freemine who will guide the main character in exploring the underwater landscapes of Fontaine and teach him the mechanics of diving to explore the depths of the sea. Freemine is recognized by Fontaine divers for his professionalism, unwavering concentration, and hydrographic knowledge.
