Dog Eat Dog in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: how to start and complete
Dog Eat Dog - the first storyline quest in the new large-scale expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty. The main character, Vi (Vi), will meet Songbird (Songbird) for the first time and learn about the main goal of the game - to save the President of the United States, Rosalind Myers (Rosalind Myers). For this, Vi will receive a reward - healing from the illness, which you could learn about in detail from playing the base version of Cyberpunk 2077.
How to Start the Dog Eat Dog Quest
To start the storyline of the expansion, you need to complete several quests from the main game:
- "Paradise Lost";
- "Pattern Recognition";
- "The Human Factor".
However, if you want to skip the main story and go straight to the expansion, go to the main menu, press "Start a New Game," and select "Start from the events of Phantom Liberty." Still, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the base game to better understand the plot, get to know the main characters, and understand the game's essence in general.
How to Complete the Dog Eat Dog Quest
Accept the Phone Call and Head to Dogtown
A mysterious acquaintance named Son Somi will contact you, claiming to be able to help with the biochip problem. Follow the designated meeting place in Dogtown.
Meet Somi
You won't be able to enter the building where Somi is directly. The security guard at the main entrance will stop you, so turn onto the adjacent path. Then, a cutscene will trigger - Vi will suffer a severe headache, causing the hero to lose consciousness. At this moment, Songbird will appear and help Vi regain consciousness and relieve the pain.
Talk to Songbird - a non-runner and the right hand of President Rosalind Myers. The girl will reveal that she knows about the hour bomb in Vi's head and will offer her assistance. In return, the main character must help save the President of the United States. The events of the expansion's storyline will revolve around this.
Songbird is considered one of the best hackers in the world. She will assist you throughout the game, such as distracting drones and reprogramming robots. Therefore, she is capable of solving Vi's biochip problems.
Immediately after the conversation with Somi, the Ability Tree will be revealed, allowing you to upgrade Vi's skills. Songbird won't follow you directly, but she promises to help from a distance.
Find the Old Parking Lot
Jump over the nearby fence to access the old parking lot. Deal with the guards who stand in your way. You can use Stealth, but you'll have to act carefully and pay close attention to the movements and actions of the guards.
Once you reach the garage door, the pursuit by the guards will stop. Enter inside and follow the quest marker. You'll find a metal sheet on the floor at the marker location - move it to open the passage to the hidden underground parking.
Hack the Access Point
As you walk down the corridor, you'll come across an access point, but it will be without power. The power source will be further down the corridor - go and activate it. Once you power the access point, an elevator nearby will start working.
Advance on the Platform
Step onto the cargo lift. The platform will start moving. As you proceed, you'll be able to talk to Songbird. She will answer some of your questions and tell you about her past.
Get to the Bridge
Next, you need to go to the car lift. Move forward, following the marker. At some point, the structure beneath you will collapse, and Vi will fall down. Now, getting to the bridge will be even more challenging, and the lower level is completely dark.
You need to move carefully to avoid falling further. Follow the bridge until you see a wrecked car with no doors - go through it and turn right.
Keep to the two glowing yellow stripes. Turn slightly to the right towards some boxes and jump up to grab the railing.
Now follow the path to the brightly glowing lantern at the end. The path will consist of extending platforms with the same yellow stripes that you can use as guides. At the end, climb onto the beams to reach the desired bridge.
Find the Exit to Dogtown
Follow the red corridor to the very end. Songbird will be talking with you along the way. At the end of the corridor, enter the automatically opening door. Continue down the corridor, and turn right at the crates. Songbird will warn that there are guards ahead, and your location has been detected. You can use Stealth to avoid triggering enemies or engage in open combat.
At the end of the room, there will be a barrier behind which is an elevator.
Reach the Black Market
Leave the elevator and exit to the street. Once again, talk to Songbird and move forward. Follow the marker and climb the stairs.
Ascend to the Construction Site
Continue to climb to the upper floors. The elevator will get stuck, so restart the generator in the same cabin. Move along the walls to the highest point of the building - the roof. This is the end point of the quest, where Songbird will initiate a conversation with you again.
Ascend further along the road debris.
During the conversation with Songbird, you will see projectiles hitting a liner on which President Rosalind Myers is aboard. The connection with Songbird will be lost, and Vi will barely avoid the falling ship. Afterward, the main character will descend through a garbage chute and head to the crash site to find out what happened.
At this point, the first storyline mission will be completed, and the next one, "Last Flight" (Hole in The Sky), will start automatically.
