"Who Wants to Live Forever": Walkthrough
Accept Reed's Call
After successfully completing your main mission and serving the FIA well, Reed will contact you. There should be at least 24 hours since your last meeting. You can skip time.
On the phone, the agent will inform you that you can proceed with the operation to remove the biochip, which will permanently rid you of Johnny Silverhand's persona.
Head to Misty's Esoterica Shop
You will be picked up for the operation from the rooftop of Misty's Esoterica and Chakra Harmonization shop. The building is located on Urmland Street in Little China.
Talk to Johnny
Enter the building and take the elevator to the rooftop. Johnny will appear nearby, realizing that he is facing imminent death. He will offer you the choice to refuse Reed's offer and save his life. You can choose two possible outcomes:
- "I've decided, Johnny." Decline Johnny's offer and call Reed. This action cannot be undone. As soon as Solomon calls you again, the operation will be scheduled;
- "You're right. Can't go through with it." Agree with Johnny. This choice leads to a different ending and promises V death within the next six months.
To achieve the ending provided by this quest, refuse Johnny's offer. He will say his final words before fading into oblivion and reveal V's real name. You'll have to bid farewell to your sometimes obnoxious but beloved partner.
Once V boards the plane, the quest will be completed, and the next small mission, "Things Done Changed," will begin. In it, you will learn about the fate that awaits the main character and what they have signed up for.
