In the new DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, the main character V will meet companions who will assist him in saving President Rosalind Myers. In total, you will encounter three companions: Soyka, Alex, and Reed, each with their own backstory and relationship to Vi.

Solomon Reed

Solomon Reed is a covert agent of the FRU, whom Vi first encounters in the story mission "Secrets Sleeper Agent". He's dubbed a "Sleeper Agent" since he has long been retired. An experienced spy who has served the USA for many years, he remains loyal to his country. His defining characteristics are loyalty, reliability, perseverance, and strong moral principles that he adheres to unconditionally. He deeply cares for his loved ones, so he will worry about Vi and provide all possible help to the protagonist.

Together with Vi, Reed will take part in the mission to save the president. He has handled numerous coups, conspiracies, rebellions, and thwarted assassination attempts on politicians. He will prove to be a reliable companion on this adventure.

Soyka

Song So Mi, or simply Soyka, is a netrunner and the closest assistant to President Rosalind Myers. A legendary figure known for her hacking and cyber intrusion skills. She first contacts Vi in the mission "Dog Eat Dog" offering to help save the president, but not for free. Soyka knows about Vi's struggles with the biochip and his merging identity with Johnny Silverhand. She offers her help and a cure in exchange for rescuing the president. Vi agrees.

Soyka is a skilled programmer, so she will assist Vi throughout their journey using advanced technology. No system can resist her incredible expertise and experience. Solomon Reed was her first mentor, who gave her the endearing nickname.

Alex

Alena "Alex" Xenakis is a former braindance actress, now an undercover agent for the FRU, recruited by Solomon Reed. She's a queen of disguises and transformations. Growing up in the slums under harsh conditions, she refused to be a victim of circumstances and always foresaw herself as a successful and famous artist.

Alex was invited to a studio that turned out to be a division of the FRU. Here she met and trained under the guidance of Solomon Reed. After the fall of the USA, she was forced to return to her previous slum life, but everything changed when she got a chance to participate in the mission to save the president alongside Vi.

Can you start a romance in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty?

Unfortunately, with none of the companions in Phantom Liberty can you start a romantic relationship. Vi will interact and get closer to each character as the story progresses, but without the possibility of starting a romance or hinting at something more. You can unlock additional side quests and scenes with the companions to get to know them better, but nothing beyond that.
