Spider and the Fly in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: how to get through and neutralize the Chimera

Spider and the Fly - the third storyline quest of the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, in which you need to protect President Rosalind Myers, confront Hansen's henchmen, and defeat Chimera. This mission is quite involved, so we've prepared a detailed guide on how to complete it.

How to Start the "Spider And The Fly" Mission

This is a storyline mission, so it will start immediately after completing the previous quest, "Last Plane." If the quest marker doesn't appear automatically on the map, go to your quest journal and track it.

Talk to Myers

After the battle in the previous mission, you'll be contacted by Songbird. Inform them that President Rosalind Myers is alive. You'll be asked to take her to a safe location - an abandoned building on Elizabeth Kress Street.

Follow to the Safe Location

Move through the ruined building toward the quest marker. Head upstairs and enter the room. Myers will be following you all this time. When you get inside, follow the President and have a conversation with her. She will share her thoughts and concerns about the events unfolding.

Remove the Tracker

Myers will also reveal that there's a tracking device attached to her neck, making her easy to locate and capture. Right now, one of the drones is trying to detect you.

Myers will ask for your help. Act quickly - time will be limited. Rip out the tracker from her neck by pressing "F," and then quickly hide behind the nearest building.

Right after this, Songbird will get in touch and tell you where the building is and where you need to go. Follow the door marked on the map, then head towards the elevator. To activate it, you'll need to restore power.

Restore Power to the Elevator

You need to get to the utility room with a distribution panel. Turn left from the elevator and go down. Crawl through the hole in the wall, and you'll find a room with a panel. Reboot it.

Don't rush to leave - there will be a lot of useful loot in the room that you'll need. Afterward, return to Myers and power up the elevator.

Evade the Drone

Upstairs, Myers will notice that another drone is tracking you. You won't be able to evade it without Songbird's help - contact the girl, and she'll assist in diverting the drone's attention. Keep an eye on the mini-map for the drone's movements and its field of view. Avoid entering its line of sight at all costs, and carefully advance forward, hiding behind furniture and crates.

Make your way forward until you reach the kitchen. Here, you'll need to interact with a panel and upload a virus into it so that Songbird can divert the drone's attention, allowing you to proceed.

Leave the Building

Now, the most challenging part - you need to pass through Hansen's fighters and steal a car that will allow you to quickly leave the dangerous area. We recommend using Stealth to attract as little attention as possible and eliminate enemies stealthily. Myers will assist you.

Next, you'll have two exit options - through a secret passage or the main hall. In the second case, you'll need to deal with another group of enemies.

On your way out, take the "Barghest" car and leave the location.

Get to the Building

The path to the safe location won't be easy. Keep a close eye on the mini-map to avoid areas where patrols are present. Blue roads are safe, and you can freely travel on them. Red territories are dangerous, so steer clear of them.

If you happen to enter a red zone, you'll trigger a pursuit. You'll need to break away and exit the car to deal with the enemies. This can make the mission take longer, so stick to the route along the blue paths.

At the end, you'll reach a parking lot in front of the building.

Enter Inside and Fight Hansen's People

Enter the parking lot and head to the elevator. Go up and proceed forward following the marker.

At the end, Myers will draw your attention to strange sounds. At this moment, Songbird will contact you, informing you that Hansen's henchmen have managed to track you down. Enemies will appear immediately, and you'll have to fend them off. There will be too many enemies, but that's how it should be. At some point, the "Chimera" robot controlled by Songbird will come to your aid. Initially, she will be on your side, but in the end, the robot will malfunction, and its final target will be the protagonist and the president.

The robot is too powerful to engage in a fair fight, so run after Myers to leave the dangerous area as quickly as possible.

Escape Chimera by Taking the Elevator

Follow Myers through the corridors to avoid getting lost or stuck. Follow the marker that indicates the elevator. Call the elevator and hide behind one of the columns after Myers. Chimera will continuously attack you, so avoid her strikes.

Enter the elevator. A scripted scene will play out - the protagonist will fall, the cables won't withstand the overload, and the elevator will plummet down. You need to press "F" within the allotted time.

Fight Chimera

After the fall, V will shut down. Myers will bring the protagonist back to consciousness. Chimera is still in pursuit, so you will have to engage in a battle with the robot after all.

The enemy is quite powerful, so follow these tips to withstand its attacks:

  • Use powerful long-range weapons. A shotgun is an ideal choice;
  • To disable Chimera, aim for its vulnerable spots. These areas will be highlighted with orange markers;
  • If the markers disappear, simply re-scan the robot - they will reappear;
  • Chimera will attack you with a laser beam - jump to avoid the beams. They take a significant portion of your HP;
  • After hitting Chimera's vulnerable spots, it will summon drones for help. Do not ignore them, and eliminate them first;
  • Do not get too close to Chimera. There are many places in the location where you can take cover between shots - crates, columns, and other objects.

Once Chimera's health approaches zero, you'll be able to get inside the car. Climb onto the chassis, use a grenade, and destroy the robot.

Immediately after this, the mission will be completed, and the next storyline quest, "Secrets Sleeper Agent," will begin.
