Chivalry 2 is a new project from Canadian developers Torn Banner Studios. The game was released in 2021 and undoubtedly pleases fans of medieval battles. Players will take on the role of a brave warrior and participate in a large number of battles using various types of weapons. Chivalry 2 is much more dynamic and diverse than the first installment. Here, you can siege castles or simply raid villages. In short, everything you need to achieve victory.

Description of Main Classes

To make a choice, it is necessary to first study each of the main classes in more detail. This is necessary to understand what awaits the player during the course of Chivalry 2.

Knight

A warrior clad in heavy armor. They prefer two-handed options for weapons - axes, hammers, swords. They may not be fast, but they have no rivals when it comes to resilience. Knights are usually used as defensive characters. They can withstand enemy assaults and fend off attacks for a long time. Additionally, they can blow a horn, thereby inspiring their teammates. The guard is an interesting subclass. They are equipped with a shield and one-handed weapon. They are best used for defense in narrow passages. Overall, knights are an excellent choice for beginners as they can last in battle for quite a long time, allowing for quicker mastery of the combat system.

Vanguard

Enthusiasts of multiplayer games will immediately recognize this class as the classic "damage dealer." The Vanguard is fast, can use any weapon in battle, and is protected by medium armor. To stay in the fight as long as possible, the player will have to parry attacks and frequently avoid enemies. However, they do not have as much armor. But the Vanguard has incendiary bombs in their arsenal. These bombs can help fend off attacking enemies or finish off retreating ones.

Footman

This character cannot boast strong defense, but they don't need it. After all, footmen are very fast and agile. They don't stand still on the battlefield but instead move around and strike as long as they have stamina. They use either one-handed weapons or two-handed spears in combat. Additionally, footmen play a support role and provide teammates with bandages. It is best to use them as assistants to Vanguards, but they have also proven themselves well in one-on-one battles. However, footmen are practically useless in battles against multiple opponents.

Archer

The archer wears light armor, making them the fastest character in the game. They also serve as healers. Archers can place banners on the battlefield that heal allies. Using them in close combat is pointless. An archer is unlikely to withstand even one blow from a knight. However, they are ideal as ranged support. During the game, the archer can be upgraded to a crossbowman or a javelin thrower.

Which class is best for beginners

In order to be useful and start killing enemies in the first battles, beginners are recommended to choose one of the best subclasses.

Guardian

A subclass of the Knight, which is considered the best option for beginner players. This is due to several advantages. Firstly, the Guardian has a large health pool, is protected by heavy armor and a shield, allowing them to survive in battle for a long time. Secondly, the character is capable of delivering powerful blows and dealing massive damage to enemies. Additionally, this subclass unlocks faster than others. That's why the Guardian is the optimal choice for those who have just started playing Chivalry 2.

Devastator

A subclass of the Vanguard, which unlocks after some time. Its distinctive feature is the possession of the most powerful weapon. With the help of a huge two-handed sword, the Devastator can create a true massacre on the battlefield and eliminate a group of enemies in a matter of seconds. Add to that the strong armor, decent speed, and you get a killing machine. Furthermore, the Devastator can throw bombs at enemies that cannot be reached with their weapon.

Infantryman

The Infantryman is considered an excellent option for players who want to enjoy the game and enthusiastically engage in every battle. The character is fast and capable of evading enemy attacks. They deliver quick and painful strikes. While a knight takes one swing, an infantryman can land 3-4 hits. This class will be a good choice for gamers who prefer dynamic sword fights.

Archer

The Archer becomes available after some time for those who chose the Archer class. Players who prefer not to engage in direct combat but instead attack enemies from a distance will enjoy playing as an Archer. They are capable of killing an enemy with a single shot to the head. It is important to remember that the Archer has a very long reload time and is unable to defend themselves in close combat. Therefore, it's necessary to always keep an eye on anyone who approaches within sword reach. At the same time, the Archer can place a shield in front of themselves, which protects them from ranged attacks. If choosing a class for ranged combat, there is no better subclass than this.
