One of the types of collectible items in the game that also reveal the character's story is televisions with videos about the writing activities of Alan Wake. Finding them all is a fairly simple task, and some are encountered as part of the storyline. In this guide, you will learn about the locations of all the televisions with videos.

Location of TVs with Videos

The videos start playing automatically when you approach them. If you just want to get the achievement, you don't need to watch the videos to the end. Progress is recorded from the moment they start.

First Video. Location: Talk Show Studio, The Dark Place. Found during the mission "Initiation 1: Late Night." The video is hard to miss; it is part of the storyline and will be shown at the very end of the mission.

Second Video. Location: Ocean Ave, The Dark Place. Found during the mission "Initiation 1: Late Night." When you find a ringing phone, head north to the store with televisions.

The video will start automatically. If, for some reason, you miss it, the video will be shown at the end of the "Initiation 2: Casey" mission.

Third Video. Location: Subway. Found as you progress through the "Initiation 2: Casey" mission.

Find the subway break room, where you'll find a television with a video.

Fourth Video. Location: Ocean Ave, The Dark Place. You can find the video while playing the "Initiation 4: We Sing" mission. Go to the same store with televisions where you watched the second video. Note that the video is only available before starting the next mission.

Fifth Video. Location: Oceanview Hotel, The Dark Place. Found during the quest "Initiation 5: Room 665." Find the key to room 101 in the main hall.

The television with the required video is in that room.

Sixth Video. Location: Talk Show Studio, The Dark Place. Found during the "Initiation 7: Masks" mission. Find the staff room and talk to the janitor.

Behind him is a door leading to the basement. Enter it and, without going all the way down the stairs, turn to the right. Walk a bit forward and turn into the passage on the left. Use your flashlight. Exit the room and turn right. Continue to the basement. Shine the flashlight on the table to reveal a box with photos. Pick them up.

Exit the basement and head northwest. There you will find televisions with the required video.

Seventh Video. Location: Poet's Cinema. Found during the "Initiation 8: Zane's Film" mission. Go to the break room. On the table, you will find a television with the required video.

Eighth Video. Location: Poet's Cinema. Found during the "Initiation 8: Zane's Film" quest. In the film processing room, find a room with an "Exit" sign. Go to the end.

Interact with the television to play the video.

For finding and watching all 8 videos, you will receive the "The Trail of the Writer" achievement.
