Pursuit is a hidden world quest in Genshin Impact where you'll once again have to return to the parallel space of the Book of Esoteric Revelations and find the fairy Canotila.

How to Start the Pursuit Quest

The quest becomes available after completing the previous quest "Through the Looking Glass." You return to Merusea Village, but Canotila remains in the world of the Book of Revelations.

The Traveler decides to embark on a search for her so that the little one doesn't get lost in her favorite and empty space. This time, Paimon will have to wait outside - the Traveler is afraid that the power of the Book of Revelations will negatively affect their beloved companion.

If the quest does not appear in the list, fast forward time by 1-2 in-game days and repeat if necessary. Usually, you are guaranteed to receive a new task within 4 in-game days.

Enter the Meditation World with the Book of Revelations

Approach the book and start meditating to move to the parallel world.

Follow the Shadow

After moving to the mysterious space, you'll discover Caterpillar's shadow. Follow it forward - the hilichurl will constantly appear in a new location. Go up and collect the Lost Bouquet. You'll need it to activate the mechanism to open the gate. At the top, you'll find Caterpillar's shadow.

Talk to the Shadow

Caterpillar vaguely remembers interacting with the Traveler. At first, he mistakes you for a monster, but then begins to suspect a recent adventure connection and believes you can be trusted. In essence, the shadow only has the appearance of a hilichurl boy but no consciousness. It's challenging to understand from the dialogue what exactly is happening with Caterpillar and the encountered shadow.

Follow the Light

After the conversation with Caterpillar, an air current will appear in the center of the room. Ride it to the next platform to talk to Caterpillar and the dog, who was with Canotila before.

Essentially, the dog is also a formless entity. Caterpillar will ask you to permanently leave the Book of Revelations space and not return. The world around is crumbling, and its forces will have a negative impact on you. The Traveler returns to their reality.

Talk to Paimon

After the Traveler's return, Paimon will say that they were gone for only a few seconds. Apparently, time in the Book of Revelations space flows by different rules. Fortunately, Paimon didn't have time to get scared, but she's quite hungry. Immediately after the dialogue with Paimon, the second part of the quest will begin. Essentially, it's one large quest with the same name, so we've combined it into one walkthrough.

Again, Meditate and Enter the Space of the Book of Revelations

To start the second part of the quest, fast forward time by 2 days. Since Canotila has not returned yet, the Traveler decides to go on her search again and finally understand what is happening. Paimon will remain in the real world, waiting for you.

Talk to Canotila

Once you enter the parallel world, you'll see Canotila near a cliff on the bridge. It turns out that this is just her image, speaking with strange and disjointed phrases, possibly attempting to communicate with the Traveler. Obviously, something bad happened to the fairy, and she needs your help.

Continue the Search

Look around - in different places of the small location, there will be several versions of Canotila. You need to talk to each of them, after which the images will disappear.

Follow the marker until you reach a mirror. Enter it - you'll find yourself in a small room where Caterpillar's shadow will stand. Leave the room through the opposite mirror.

A hilichurl rogue will attack you outside - engage in battle and lower its HP to half for the enemy to flee. You will encounter it several more times.

A purple portal will appear at the battle site - enter it. At the opposite end of the empty space, there will be another mirror. Leave the strange dimension to face the hilichurl again. A wind stream will appear - go up to find Canotila.

Fight the Hilichurl

There will be a final battle with the hilichurl that attacked the little fairy. Drive it away and talk to Canotila. You'll hear her plea to leave the world of the Book of Revelations as soon as possible and never return. The dog that accompanied the fairy will bid you farewell forever.

Return to the Normal World

This time, you managed to bring Canotila back to the village. Paimon will say that you were absent for even less time this time, which is quite surprising. Talk to Canotila and complete the quest.

After completing the quest, you will gain access to a new, final task in a small chain - "Happy Birthday."
