Eloy is a new 5-star rarity character introduced in the 2.1 update. She is a Cryo archer and serves as the main damage dealer in the squad, as she can deal very high elemental damage. She has a couple of unique features: she is not originally from Teyvat but from a completely different world, and she is a collaboration character from the game Horizon Zero Dawn. You can obtain her for free by simply claiming her from the in-game mailbox.

Players on PS4 and PS5 have access to Eloy starting from the patch release date (September 1) and can claim her until the 2.2 update, which is scheduled for October 13. Along with Eloy, they will receive her special 4-star bow. After the 2.2 update, all other players will be able to obtain the new archer, but without the additional weapon. The collaboration will last until the 2.3 update, after which Eloy will no longer be available. To obtain her, you need to reach Adventure Rank 20. 

Advantages and Disadvantages of Eloy

Only a few players have obtained the new character so far, but they have already assessed her abilities and identified her strengths and weaknesses.

Pros:

• Capable of dealing high Cryo AoE damage with her abilities;
• Using her elemental skill allows her to increase the damage of her normal attacks and gain Cryo infusion for them;
• One of her passive talents boosts the attack of her teammates;
• Useful for exploring the world - shoots down flying objects, freezes water, doesn't scare away animals and birds;
• Performs well against groups of monsters.

However, as an exclusive collaboration character, she also has several disadvantages:

• Lacks a constellation. All of Eloy's potential relies solely on her talents, artifacts, and weapons;
• Her physical damage is much lower than her elemental damage;
• Ineffective against Cryo-element monsters;
• Long cooldown on skills required to deal high damage.

Based on this, it can be concluded that Eloy excels as a long-range elemental fighter and, with a good team composition, is capable of dealing high damage and triggering useful reactions.

Eloy's Talents

"Rapid Fire"

Her normal attack with a bow allows her to perform up to 4 shots with physical damage. A fully charged attack deals Cryo damage, similar to Diona's, and a plunging attack unleashes a hail of arrows, dealing AoE physical damage.

"Frozen Wilds"

Active: Eloy throws a bomb at the enemy, dealing Cryo damage upon impact and leaving several small ice bombs on the ground for a few seconds. When enemies come into contact with these bombs, they receive Cryo damage. Note: These bombs are considered objects, so all Anemo characters can move them by throwing them at enemies or attracting them. 

 Passive: When Eloy damages an enemy with this ability, she reduces their attack power and gains 1 level of Spiral (but no more than once every 0.1 seconds). The maximum number of levels is 4, and each level increases the power of her normal attack. When the maximum is reached, the levels are consumed. After that, she obtains the Swift Ice status for 10 seconds, and all of Eloy's physical damage from attacks is converted to Cryo.

"Prophecies of Dawn"

Eloy throws a bomb filled with cold energy into the air and then detonates it with a charged arrow, dealing massive Cryo damage over a large area. This ability allows her to freeze large groups of enemies and easily deal with them. 

"Wasteland Hunter"

This significantly simplifies hunting foxes, boars, and birds and applies to any member of the party. 

"Battle Intercept"

This allows for increased damage not only from Eloy's skills but also from her allies, enabling more effective use of their combinations and reactions. 

"Powerful Attack"

During the Swift Ice effect, Eloy becomes especially powerful as her attack and Cryo damage are maximized. Use this moment to deal massive damage with elemental bursts and defeat the toughest enemies. 

Thanks to her talents, Eloy is good both for exploring the world and defeating regular monsters, as well as for clearing dungeons and the Spiral Abyss. 

To ascend Eloy and level up her talents, you will need the following materials:

• Cryo Prisms (unique drops from Cryo Hypostases);
• Shivada Jade (Cryo);
• Cleansing Heart, Spectral Nucleus, Spectral Husk (drops from ghosts on Seirai and Watatsumi Islands);
• Teachings, Guide, Philosophies of "Freedom";
• Molten Moment (unique drop from Signora);
• Crown of Insight.

To level up a single talent, you will need the following materials:

Weapons

PlayStation users will receive Eloy's unique 4-star bow as a gift, which grants a buff that increases charged and normal attack damage by up to 20% (10% per stack) when dealing Cryo damage to enemies and provides a bonus attack if she uses it. If you don't have a console, you should choose one of the "common" bows. The best option would be the Thundering Pulse, but if you don't have it, use an alternative from the available ones.

Artifacts

Eloy deals primarily elemental damage and uses many normal attacks, so the following artifacts are very suitable for her:

Important: It doesn't make sense to collect the 4-piece Gladiator's Finale set since this effect only works for swords and polearms, but you can combine the 2-piece effect with Blizzard Strayer.

She needs the following characteristics in artifacts:

• Hourglass: Attack
• Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus
• Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG
• Additional stats should also be the same, but Health or Energy Recharge can be useful.

Team Composition

Eloy fights at long range, so she needs teammates who can protect her, enhance her abilities, or help freeze enemies to keep her safe.

• Zhongli will be very useful because of his shield.
• Xingqiu and his elemental burst will allow dealing additional Hydro damage and freezing enemies at a long range, as well as reduce incoming damage to Eloy.
• Tartaglia can deal significant AoE Hydro damage, and his elemental burst can freeze or finish off enemies.
• Raiden can provide additional Electro damage and apply Superconduct, reducing enemies' physical resistance, which will be useful while Frozen Domain is on cooldown.
• Bennett can provide an attack bonus and heal.
• Diona complements the Cryo resonance, provides a shield, healing, and further reduces enemy attack power.
• Rosaria complements the resonance and can deal AoE Cryo damage, plus provides a chance of critical hits.
• Barbara is an excellent Hydro healer.
