7 mar 2021 at 19:35

In Valheim, there are a huge number of enemies. Before an attack, you will receive a notification that a raid is coming. The enemies will target your base, but you can prepare to defend against the attack.

In this guide, we will tell you how to protect your settlement from enemy attacks. Let's go!

Raids in Valheim

Actually, the event follows a chaotic order. It's impossible to predict it with 100% accuracy, but there are certain conditions that must be met for a raid to occur.

The further you progress in the game, the stronger the enemies that will attack you. Initially, they will be ordinary weak monsters, but later on, you'll need to expend a lot of strength and energy to fend off their attacks.

Signs of a Raid on Your Fortress

When you are standing near your home, a raid can be triggered. How will it look? You will receive a notification that "The forest is moving" or "The ground is shaking." Also, keep an eye on the circle on the map that will move as the enemies approach.

You won't be able to avoid raids. They are chaotic and occur randomly. There have been cases where players deliberately stayed away from their homes for a long time, but they still couldn't avoid a raid.

Actions During the Attack

The main task is to save your own life and prevent your structures from being destroyed. The raid lasts for some time, and you can either wait it out and take damage or proudly go into battle.

Tips for Preparing to Defend Your Base
  1. Constantly improve and modify your equipment and weapons.

  2. Bring food that can restore health.

  3. When building your base, consider that enemies will inevitably attack you. Build many defensive structures to make it difficult for mobs to reach your base.

  4. You don't have to defeat all the enemies. There is a retreat function - use it if the battle is too difficult.

  5. Kiting enemies is a great technique. Keep doing it until the raid is over.

List of Enemies that Can Attack
  1. The first raid will include enemies such as Greydwarves, Neck, and other animals.

  2. After defeating the first boss, stronger enemies will come to you compared to the first raid.

  3. Defeated the Ancient? Expect trolls as "guests." They attack after you've killed at least one of them.

  4. Skeletons and Draugr will attack your base after defeating Eikthyr and the Ancient but before reaching Bonemass.

  5. With each boss, the difficulty of the enemies will increase progressively.

That's all you need to know about raids in Valheim. Now you're ready to fend off any of them.
