The developers of Stalker 2 explained why the Russian-language Chernobyl is featured in the title, rather than Chornobyl.

Surely you know that recently Ukrainian developers of Stalker 2 were asked a question by their own countrymen, namely: "Why is the word Chernobyl in the title of Stalker 2 translated from Russian?".

The question is understandable and justified, taking into account the country of origin of the company. However, members of the team have repeatedly stated that there is no political subtext in their games and there will not be. Here the matter is in formalities and conditions from the side of partners. And now let's go into more detail.

Why Chernobyl, not Chornobyl?

It's all very simple - the company Microsoft put forward the requirements that such a name would look more understandable and familiar to foreign users. The developers of Stalker 2 did this without subtext and not at their discretion.
