Outriders is a co-op game with the ability to explore the world solo. For this reason, many players have asked the question, is there a way to play Outriders offline, as the need to be connected to the internet even when playing solo seems a bit strange. 

Unfortunately, the answer is no, single players cannot play Outriders without an internet connection. Why?

Why There Is No Offline Mode in Outriders

When Outriders was first shown in early April, its unique gameplay, promising story, and all the hype was quickly overshadowed by intense server issues. Players were constantly being kicked, sometimes preventing them from completing even the simplest of missions and even progressing the story. However, those players who just wanted to play the story mode solo were especially frustrated.

The reason why Outriders requires players to always be online is because all game data is stored on an online server. In most single-player games, save files and character data are stored on the console itself, but in the case of Outriders, the player's character is saved on the online server. This means that if a player does not have an internet connection, they will not be able to access the game at all.

It is possible that the developers will find a way to implement an offline mode in the future, but for now it seems unlikely.
