When playing on high difficulties oils are very helpful. However, constantly applying them is very inconvenient - you have to search for the right oil, apply it, then again and again. However, the Auto Apply Oils mod for The Witcher 3 will fix the situation. Now at the beginning of the battle the right oil will be automatically applied to your weapon. If you are fighting against drowners - oil against drowners will be applied, and so on. You just need to have the right oil in your inventory.
