Shotgun in Lethal Company is the first firearm added in update 45. This type of weapon cannot be purchased in the terminal or scrapped for metal. The only way to get the shotgun is to find and kill the Nutcracker.

The shotgun is a powerful weapon that will replace the shovel, road signs, and help you defeat stronger monsters. You must find it if you want to gain a significant advantage.

Where to Find the Shotgun

The only way to obtain the shotgun is to kill the Nutcracker. This is a new monster made in the form of a recognizable toy and added in the same version 45.

The Nutcracker can be found on moons with an increased level of difficulty: Titan, Rend, Dine. So, you won't be able to get the shotgun at the start of the game. Exploring these planets will require upgraded equipment, accumulated credits, and the skills of an experienced player.

The Nutcracker will randomly appear in the location and will be waiting for you with the shotgun. As soon as you attempt to approach, the monster will start shooting at team members. How the Shotgun Works

Immediately after killing, pick up the shotgun. There will be several bullets lying next to the Nutcracker. You can reload the shotgun with the “E” key.

You can assign the shotgun to a specific team member who will play the role of a shooter and defender. They will move behind the main participants and cover them from angles. For most monsters, one shot is sufficient. However, more dangerous opponents, such as Blind Dogs, may require several shots.

Note that the shotgun and several rounds will take up three inventory slots. There will be almost no space left for other items and equipment. Therefore, it's better to give the weapon to a specific player, and other team members can collect items for sale.

Mods

If you want to diversify the game's arsenal of weapons, download the Shotgun mod, which adds a small red shotgun. Unlike the version 45 shotgun, you can purchase the modified weapon in the terminal on the spacecraft.
