Fiction and Reality Inside and Outside the Frame – the second story quest of the "Roses and Muskets" event in Genshin Impact.

The shooting begins! The whole team is gathered, and now the Traveler and Paimon have to participate in the film. While some play the main roles, others investigate a real crime that occurred on the streets of Court of Fontaine.

How to Start the Quest

The quest starts on December 23 after the first story quest – The Crack of Muskets Breaking the Silence. If you joined the event a bit later, rewind time to 8:00-10:00 of the next in-game day to start the quest.

Head to the "Hotel Debord" to shoot the film

Go to the meeting place to gather the whole team and guests from Inazuma. Ayaka and Yoimiya will talk about their time in Court of Fontaine. Ayato will share information about meeting the Fatui envoy Neuvillette in Palais Mermonia. Chevreuse started her day with a 10-kilometer run, and Furina spent the whole night reading the script and didn't get enough sleep. In short, everyone spent their time differently, and it's time to discuss the details of the first shoot.

Find the person who needs help

Talk to each friend to understand who needs help. Yoimiya will refuse – she can handle things herself. Chiori helps Ayato with makeup. The head of the Kamisato clan tries to talk to the silent designer, but she doesn't yield to persuasion. Ayaka, Chevreuse, and Furina, however, need your advice.

Choose one of the response options offered on the screen. The choice won't affect the further storyline.

Get ready for the shoot

Observe how the shooting of the first scene goes. The actors are doing an excellent job, but you still have an unresolved issue that you promised to help Chevreuse with.

Talk to Chevreuse

Approach the commander and discuss the plan for further actions regarding the crime investigation. She will share the available information and suggest visiting a couple of places that should shed light on the situation.

Head to Leschots Clockwork Workshop for the investigation

The first person Chevreuse decides to question is Livre from Leschots Clockwork Workshop. Head to the Lyonnais district and talk to Livre, who will report that all recent purchases don't fit Chevreuse's criteria.

Head to Beaumont Workshop for the investigation

The second destination is Beaumont Workshop. Talk to Estelle, who will state that she didn't take any strange orders and can't provide valuable information.

Head to Fleuve Cendre for the investigation

The next location is Fleuve Cendre (Fleuve Cendre), the sewer district. Talk to Emerald and Tetreaux. Emerald will report loud sounds, and Tetreaux will point out a musketeer that the criminal dropped behind the counter. Move on to the broken bottles, where someone likely tested their shooting skills.

Next, the third story quest will begin –"The Lone Isle Glimpsed Through Fog."
