To Pull or Not to Pull for Lyney?

The question is primarily rhetorical, especially for waifu gamers, so we won't delve into the design aspect and will focus solely on gameplay. But what about those who meticulously craft teams for Abyss clearing? The answer is simple: if you diligently keep up with the relevance of her updates, then Lyney will be quite useful for you. The reason is that with the introduction of the Thoma mechanic to the game, a new Pyro mechanism called Aurous Blaze has been added. These specific "elements" are used to weaken new enemies and, importantly, solve certain puzzles, and are exclusive to the new Thoma-related characters. Lyney possesses the Aurous Blaze, just like the main Hydro character, paired with Fremina. The latter promises to be quite specialized, and the main character isn't always convenient for everyone's use. 

This brings us to Lyney - a promising Pyro damage dealer with lively gameplay that appeals even to mobile device owners (I can affirm this as someone among those "owners"). Charged attacks don't necessarily need to hit the target - the homing Laughing Kätzlein projectiles take care of that for you. Another characteristic of this character is remarkably high damage even at relatively low levels of ascension (not without considerable skill multipliers, of course). An added bonus is her built-in healing ability. 

Cons of Lyney in Genshin Impact

Now, let's discuss the cons, since some significant pros have already been listed. Personally, the most unpleasant yet predictable aspect for me is the almost complete lack of interruption resistance*.

If you're complaining, suggest an alternative, which might involve either: 

1. The most basic solution, a shield;
2. Abilities that divert enemy attention or mislead them (e.g., Linette's Elemental Burst and Tignari's Elemental Skill);
3. Characters like Diona and those similar to her (her Elemental Skill absorbs damage and grants interruption resistance to the active character). 

Also, something related to his recent introduction as of the time of writing - for some, the novelty of Lyney and the need to farm resources from scratch could be a significant argument. I can assure you that the farm for upgrade materials (as well as books, presumably starting from Thursday) for her is fairly straightforward and doesn't pose major issues, especially if you're not a newcomer. Furthermore, I believe this downside is temporary - the rigidity of a specialist in the team setup area isn't pleasing. 

Again, at the time of her release, the skills of characters whose Hydro application for Vaporize is most comfortable (yes, I'm referring to Eula and Xingqiu) rely on normal attacks, which Lyney doesn't emphasize. I will humbly suggest that throughout the 4.x update series, characters who can provide Lyney with a substantial area of Hydro for Vaporize will likely appear. Meanwhile, we have Monopiro (3 Pyro and 1 Anemo/Geo) and Burn (usually with Rosaria). 

Conclusion

Let's wrap it up! If you don't mind or need a solid Pyro damage dealer who combines new mechanics and high DPS, then Lyney is your unequivocal choice. In all other cases, no one should (and must not) judge you for saving your primogems for "that one" or "that other" character. With that, we conclude our analysis.
