18 dec 2023 at 10:54

Verdict – a 5-star weapon, a claymore, that will appear in Genshin Impact with the release of update 4.3. It is the signature two-handed cannon Navia (Navia), which, nevertheless, will be suitable for other characters.

In this guide, you will learn who to give the Verdict to, the characteristics of the new weapon, and whether it's worth obtaining.

How to Obtain Verdict

Verdict is a cannon that can only be obtained from the weapon banner. It will be released alongside Navia's event banner. So, if you want to get the two-hander, keep an eye out for the release of version 4.3 and subsequent weapon updates. You won't be able to get Verdict for free.

The weapon banner with Verdict will start on December 20, 2023, and end on January 9, 2024.

Weapon Characteristics and Features

The main stat of Verdict is critical hit rate. The characteristics at the maximum upgrade level are:

  • Base attack – 674;
  • Critical hit rate – 22.3%.

The weapon's passive effect:

“Increases attack power by 20%. When party members pick up elemental shards created by the Crystal reaction, the equipped character gains 1 Seal, increasing the damage of the elemental skill by 18%. The Seal lasts for 15 seconds. The equipped character can have up to 2 Seals simultaneously. All Seals of the equipped character will disappear 0.2 seconds after dealing damage with their elemental skill.”

The passive effect is quite useful and automatically positions the character wielding Verdict as a main or support DPS. The pros include a high base attack. The percentage figures in the passive effect increase with each awakening.

Materials for Ascension and Awakening

To ascend Verdict to its maximum level, you will need the following resources:

  • 1,131,400 Mora;
  • 907 Enhancement Ores;
  • Meshing Gear, Mechanical Spur Gear, Artificed Dynamic Gear;
  • Rift Core, Foreign Synapse, Alien Life Core;
  • Fragment of an Ancient Chord, Unfinished Echo of an Ancient Chord, Movement of an Ancient Chord, Echo of an Ancient Chord.

Awakening materials – duplicates of Verdict – can only be obtained from the weapon banner.

Ascending a five-star weapon is always a debated topic. Typically, investments do not pay off, and most players prefer saving primogems for new characters and constellations. However, ascending a weapon is not pointless, especially if you pulled a duplicate in one ten-pull or plan to make Navia your main DPS.

Who It's Suitable For

The mechanics of Verdict are based on generating and collecting Crystals. The character's task is to maximize the weapon's passive ability. The main two-handers that excel in this regard are:

  • Navia. An obvious choice as Verdict is the signature weapon of the Spina di Rosula leader. It increases the damage of the elemental skill, which Navia constantly uses. The targeted skill mode allows you to collect crystals for the ultimate without the need to run around the field. Navia's gameplay, focused on collecting crystals from reactions, perfectly complements the passive effect of Verdict;
  • Freminet. In case you decide to turn the boy-diver into a full-fledged Cryo DPS. When Freminet uses the "Pressurized Floe" ability, he enters the "Pers Timer" state. In this state, Freminet's attacks count as elemental skill attacks. The problem is that Freminet cannot create crystals on his own, so a Geo applicator is required in the team – Zhongli, Albedo, Noelle, Gorou;
  • Dehya. The desert warrior often uses the elemental skill. However, there is a nuance: the damage from the ultimate will decrease, which is Dehya's main source of damage;
  • Diluc. Possible alternative, but not the best option. Diluc is much more effective with the signature Wolf's Gravestone, which, moreover, can be obtained from the standard banner;
  • Kaveh. Often uses the elemental skill but plays through Bloom, so a significant problem arises with one slot that needs to be given to a Geo character. And this is not always convenient in squads where Dendro and Hydro elements take up the main spots;
  • Arataki Itto. It's better to find an alternative since Itto plays through the ultimate;
  • Eula. The same situation. The girl is generally very picky and requires the fulfillment of many conditions to deal good damage with her ultimate. In this case, it will be reduced in advance. Consider if you are willing to sacrifice the potential of the character;
  • Xinyan. Unlike the previous examples, plays through the elemental skill, but the character's damage is not high enough to justify giving her such valuable weapon. Perhaps Xinyan is your favorite character, and you want to unlock her potential. In that case, choose at your discretion.

Other two-handed weapons do not realize Verdict's passive ability. On the other hand, the weapon can always be used as a damage plug with critical chance. It's up to you to decide how justified it is to spend coveted event wishes for this purpose.

The most important thing to understand about the weapon's working principle: there must be a Geo element in the team + a reactive element: Cryo, Pyro, Hydro, Electro. Dendro DOES NOT react with Geo, and Verdict will not realize its useful passive ability. We do not recommend sacrificing it – the whole essence of the weapon will be missed.

Attack rotation for Verdict, which will help you better understand its working principle:

  1. Use all elemental skills and unleash the ultimates of other characters in the team;
  2. If Verdict is worn as support. Place any source of periodic Geo damage on the field: Zhongli, Albedo, Geo Traveler. After that, bring out the main DPS;
  3. If Verdict is worn as support-DPS. Use the support-DPS ability and bring out the main DPS;
  4. The Crystallize reaction will be triggered. Now try to have the character wielding Verdict collect as many Crystals as possible. Do this before using the elemental skill;
  5. When the construct is about to break, switch to the Geo character and set it up again. Continue similarly, periodically using the skills and ultimates of other characters according to your squad rotation.

And if you don't plan to pull for Verdict or have decided that you don't need it after all, check out the guide on the new 4* claymore – Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword.
