The best guide for Freminet in Genshin Impact: build, artifacts, weapons and teams

8 oct 2023 at 14:33

To all readers, greetings. Today we will discuss a character introduced in version 4.1 - the 4* diver named Freminet. Everyone has seen the title, so I won't delay any further.

Skills, Abilities

We'll talk about the dream of having a damage-dealer from a Burst. Specifically, not just from it - the versatility allows you to play the hero in a Cryo build via Melt and in a tried-and-true Superconduct. Or everywhere at once (more on this later, in the team-building section). A brief about the skill workings and their pitfalls:

- Pressurized Floe
The main thing to understand. It's the backbone of Freminet's skillset. Upon activation, he assumes a "stance". Every normal attack inflicts coordinated Cryo and/or physical damage and increases the count of stacks ("Pressure") by 1, up to 4 stacks. Re-activating the skill/using a normal attack with four stacks will trigger the "Crushing Pressure" damage (depending on the mentioned additional attacks' damage). It's the "lever" that allows you to control the increase of a specific type of damage - each level of "Crushing Pressure" increases the share of physical damage at the expense of reducing the share of Cryo damage.
And, of course, there's the Pneuma application every 9 seconds, typical for the native fountain user.

- Shadowhunter's Ambush
Resets the skill's cooldown by 70% and doubles the damage from the coordinated attack. Every normal attack in both stances (active stack system E and Q) increases the "Pressure" by 2. This allows for an instant max stack. And yes, you'd better engage the ultimate skill rotation by rotation, as manually stacking will turn you into a slow suicide in the chaos of the battlefield.

- Passive Skills
Even more accelerated stack accumulation in "Saturation Deep Dive" and a multiplier in "Parallel Condensers", which you will ignore 90% of the time due to its value being overshadowed by buffs that are slightly more useful in other types of teams. While we're discussing the majority of builds, the Burst will linger on the periphery and won't remind us of its existence at all. Thus, the passive's influence is limited to a spot smaller than a pixel titled "That Squad with Vegetation".

- Minor Details
Level 90 is optional, but watch out for the talents, as their percentage binding is significant for a 4*. Playing with Burst and Freeze respectively is enjoyable due to control of the combat situation, so consider this when forming your main squad. Also, no matter how you shape Freminet, he is generally solo-targeted.

Freminet (Freminet) Talent Upgrade Priority

For physical DPS: E > A > Q.
For Cryo DPS: E > Q > (?) A.

Rotations for Freminet:

- (E - Q) - normal attack - normal attack - E - normal attack - E
For the physical build. The part outside the parentheses is repeatable.

- (E - Q) - E - E - E - normal attack - E - E - normal attack
For Melt. Although you'll also use it in Freeze or MonoCryo.

Freminet's Best Weapon

Physical Build

Weapons are named within a 25%-0% damage gain in descending order.

- Song of Broken Pines
The best choice for physical damage and the one that unexpectedly holds the middle of the top reverse melt build. The high base attack and passive turned out to be so integral to the rationale of "good" damage that in teams without Bennett, the claymore fluctuates between second and third places (with the more usual positioning being last).

- Redhorn Stonethresher
Slightly more useful in physical due to its interaction with one of the main damage factors, but overall usable everywhere because of its top attribute. In Bennett's field, it's the strongest; this is indisputable.

- Beacon of the Reed Sea
A claymore of contrasts: at P5 the strongest, at P1 the weakest of the five-star.

- Skyward Pride
The standard. Incredible in its unity with its owner.

- Serpent Spine
Witness Freminet's damage with P5 and perish (especially if you're a mob).

- The Unforged
If only Zhongli came as a gift, it would be astonishing.

- Wolf's Gravestone
It comes to the fore when enemies tearfully beg to be finished off. Which means a bit too late.
- Blackcliff Slasher
The community will never cease to chaotically spit on the worst stacking system. The anchor chain drags it below the bottom of Cura-de-Fountain.

- Stone Sword
No matter how hard you try, you can't assemble a team of Liyue citizens that meets all the requirements. Approximation is such a thing; it's easier to just give up this approach in favor of a less convoluted option.

- Talking Stick
If you plan to play with Bennett or Beidou.

- Tidal Shadow
If you plan to play with Bennett or any other "pocket" healer ("Stick" is a budget edition).

- Prototype: Archaic

Cryo Build

The candidates are the same, but closer to each other in tabular calculations and friendlier to alternative proposals. The list covers a 20%-0% gain.

  • Beacon of the Reed Sea;
  • Redhorn Stonethresher.

Their distribution is more nominal since the gap is less than 1%.

  • Song of Broken Pines
  • Serpent Spine
  • The Unforged
  • Wolf's Gravestone
  • Stone Sword
  • Skyward Pride
  • Talking Stick
  • Blackcliff Slasher
  • Tidal Shadow
  • Prototype: Archaic

The issue of the claymore is very critical for Freminet. The result of this assertion was a rigid top and a clear division.

Best Artifacts for Freminet

A note next to each set describes its applicability to the build.

- Pale Flame (phys)
The best you can extract from the depths of the Abyss.

- Blizzard Strayer (phys and Cryo)
Illustrates desperation in both cases, no third option given. Although there is a "given": either for permanent Shatter with a reliable Hydro source.

- Golden Troupe (mostly Cryo)
Not all the potential of the precious bonus, but we have what we have.

- Lavawalker (Cryo)
Equipped for Melt.

- Marechaussee Hunter, Echoes of Offering, Gladiator's Finale, Retracing Bolide (phys)
Investing in normal attacks isn't always wasteful. Although their utility is understated compared to the damage from E, no one has bothered to convey this truth to the uninitiated. In general, take them when you have absolutely nothing else.

- And a 2+2 collection from utter despair everywhere dark, empty, deserted, and a spider in the corner: the aforementioned/"Vermilion Death"/"Emblem of Severed Fate"/"Memories of Simenava"/"Blood Knight" (phys only).

Freminet's Stats

A moment of attention is dedicated to Shatter. Something to care about last. Damage from it is insignificant, and it doesn't aspire to become a damage cornerstone. 30-80 cents = good, but don't overdo it.

For physical build, the distribution is as follows:
- Crown: crit. damage/chance
- Goblet: physical damage bonus/attack power
- Watch: attack power/energy recharge
Priority of characteristics: energy recharge -> crits -> attack power % -> flat. attack -> elemental mastery.
Standard: 60/180% crits, 2300 atk, 180+ % er, 50-80 em.

For Cryo build (often Melt):
- Crown: crit damage/chance
- Goblet: Cryo damage bonus/attack power
- Watch: attack power/elemental mastery (*from now on: needed if you play with Melt)/energy recharge

Priority of characteristics: crits -> energy recharge -> elemental mastery* -> attack power % -> flat. attack.
Standard: 70/160% crits, 1800 atk (compensated by Bennett), 200+ % er (if the only Cryo in the team), 150+ em*.

Freminet's Constellations

  • C1 - a safe (paid) way to economize crit. chance for the majority of the character's total DPS.
  • C2 - investment in 20% of ER stats.
  • C3 - valuable for physical Freminet and Freminet receiving external infusion.
  • C4 - a small universal buff with a stable activation schedule.
  • C5 - used in all playstyles (or always when you want to amplify E by any means necessary).
  • C6 - in addition to the C4 attack, you can now be consoled with an addition to critical damage.

In conclusion: these small buffs, when combined, make it easier to create and maintain a balance of critical stats. Approved and recommended by 9 out of 10 theorycrafters.

Best Teams with Freminet

The priority of the heroes is written from left to right.

- Freminet, E Lanyu, Xin Qiu, Kuki/Raiden, Nahida/Bai Zhu
Vegetation. It's this team that deserves a standing ovation, and it's the one I mentioned at the beginning. Freminet delegates Freeze (+ buds, + statues), destroys statues (+ passive work), Vegetation occurs (+ damage), Superconduct hangs on enemies in the background (+ to Freminet's own damage), and on top, there's a buff from E Lanyu's ultimate (EVEN MORE + to Freminet's damage). A lethal missile-gun capable of not everything, but a lot for sure.

- Freminet, Xin Qiu/E Lanyu, Fischl, Yae/Raiden (from E)/Lisa/Beidou/Kuki/Dori, Mika/Zhongli/Layla or Diona/Mona
Shatter.

- Freminet, Fischl or Yae/Kuki/Raiden/Lisa/Beidou (wants more frequent use of normal attacks)/Dori, Rosaria/Nahida/Albedo, Zhongli/Mika/Diona or Layla/Bennett (combines with Freminet's timings and positioning worse than desired)/Yun Jin/Jean (C2+)/Xinyan
Classic physical from Superconduct.

- Freminet, Shen He/Chongyun/Xiangling/Nahida, Kazuha/Sucrose/Jean/Linette, Bennett
Reverse Melt via Xiangling, Burn and Sunfaer in one, choose.

- Freminet, Shen He/Layla/Diona, Rosaria/Chongyun/Ganyu (from Q)/Kaeya, Kazuha/Venti/Jean/Linette/Anemo Traveler
Monocryo. For Freeze, the second block is replaced by an independent Hydro applicator (Kokomi, Mona) because the discussed Freminet is only indifferent to the E-skill.

I sincerely hope this guide helped. Good luck with your best build!
