How to Start the "Vagrants and Scamps" Quest

  • Adventure Rank 40;
  • Completed Chapter 2, Act 4 of the Archon Quests, "As Light Rain Falls Without Reason."

"Vagrants and Scamps": Walkthrough

Head to Steambird

Go to "Steambird" from the nearest teleport point. As you pass by the editorial office, Paimon will suggest getting closer to find out why Talochard, the Melusine, came here.

Gather Information about What Happened

Approach and talk to the editor Jenck. It turns out that Sir Arthur, the Steambird, has disappeared from the publication. Talochard has taken the initiative and wants to investigate the bird's disappearance herself. The Traveler decides to help the little Melusine, receives a folder with all the available information and suspects.

Find Clues

Don't go far and examine the following places to gather clues for further investigation:

  • The stand where the Steambird was placed;
  • The middle of the staircase leading to the publication;
  • The flowerpot next to the stairs;
  • Not far from the editorial office, around the building's turn, there will be a box with a note;
  • Tracks near the editorial office.

Talk to Paimon and piece together all the available clues to come to a clear conclusion. Now you need to find Rocher, one of the suspects.

Head to the Pier

The next destination is the pier near the Opera Epiclese theater. Deal with the Treasure Hoarders.

Find Clues about Rocher

Investigate the clues around to find out where Rocher might have fled. Approach the strange box right by the water.

Talk to the Person Hiding in the Chest

Rocher, the drunkard, will emerge from the box, vehemently denying his guilt and accusing the Melusine of fabricating facts.

Find a Way to Disprove Rocher's Arguments

The Traveler and Talochard suspect that Rocher is hiding something. Compare all the available clues through the case folder to expose Rocher and make him tell the truth. The crucial evidence pointing to the drunkard's involvement and his presence on the fatal night at Steambird is the dirty, empty wine bottle.

Rocher confesses that he was indeed at Steambird that night but has no connection to the incident. However, he managed to witness a possible suspect, about whom he will provide information.

Let the Puppy Sniff the Clues

Let the dog sniff the available clues nearby to follow the trail and find the real culprit. Follow the puppy to the next location.

Talk to the People in Front of the House

Ahead is a hut. Approach to talk to Madeleine and Kevin – her son. It turns out that the boy was at the crime scene that night, and he even has evidence – a blade. Find out the details.

Find the Blade

Follow the boy, who will be attacked by Hydro Slimes. After the battle, Kevin admits that he threw the blade into the water, and if you want to find it, try searching underwater.

Follow the marker and dive deep. The knife will be under a rock, which you can break with the help of the Xenochromatic Jellyfish ability, floating nearby.

Return to the Shore

Surface and discuss everything with Talochard. The Melusine will mention that the knife looks familiar, and she will try to find out more about it. The quest will be completed, and the next quest, "The Red and the Black," will start automatically.
