Fontaine is a new region introduced in update 4.0 of Genshin Impact. It's time to embark on a quest to find chests that will bring primogems, resources, and the opportunity to thoroughly explore the territory. In this guide, we'll go over where to find all the common chests in the new region. Before you set out on your adventure, make use of the following recommendations:

• Progress through the region's storyline to gain access to closed-off areas and understand the game mechanics;
• Unlock teleport waypoints for convenient movement.

On the map, there are two markings: blue - located on the surface, red - located underwater or underground. Fontaine is dotted with underground and underwater locations, some of which are revealed as you progress through the storyline. For example, to claim rewards #4, #5, #6, #7, and #8, you'll initially need to find a way to access an underwater cave. The entrance is known, but it's blocked by seaweed and a strong water current preventing the hero from entering.

To obtain rewards #26 and #27, you'll need to drain the water from a submerged city. Chests appear after you light a torch (doing this underwater is simply impossible).

Another interesting example is reward #3, which appears exclusively on an airship. Initially, it's not there, so you need to find an air transport station and travel to the specified location. Afterward, the chest will appear on the airship.

Chests underwater can also appear only under certain conditions. For example, chest #13 appears if you protect a cute underwater creature that's being attacked by mechanisms. Once the enemies are destroyed, follow it, and it will lead you to the correct location.

Don't forget to pay attention to local mechanisms that need to be broken with a pneumatic drill. Chest #2 appears only after a condition is fulfilled, and as for the mechanism, it looks like it does in the screenshot.

As for other situations, chests are usually located on heights, in bushes, or on ledges. By carefully exploring the environment, you'll come across something interesting in any case, and initially, these chests will be your findings.

There can be many variations in the placements; you can follow our markers and carefully explore the indicated points. As general recommendations, remember the following:

• If you see a chest standing alone, grab it immediately;
• If a chest is surrounded by a red aura, you need to defeat enemies or fulfill an additional condition;
• If there are no enemies or the chest itself, pay attention to mechanisms, teleport points, or other signs.
