Blacksmith in Enshrouded - one of the NPC craftspeople that will be useful to you for unlocking new recipes, items, and tools. This is the first NPC you can free in the game. Only after placing the blacksmith at your base will you gain access to missions to rescue the other craftspeople.

How to Start and Complete the Quest "Find the Sleeping Survivor"

The mission to rescue the blacksmith "Find the Sleeping Survivor" opens immediately after building the Flame Altar - one of the main structures at your base. You can do this at the very beginning of the game during the mission of the same name.

To make the quest appear in the task list, approach the Altar and interact with the E button. After that, a marker will appear on the map indicating the altar with the soul of the blacksmith Oswald Anders.

Where to Find the Blacksmith

To find the altar, simply follow the marker on the map. You need to pass through Braelyn Bridge, which connects two islands, and head to the abandoned ruins with a monument in the center. The easiest way to get to the location is via a straight path. This way, you won't get lost in the Shroud and will find the cave you need. Go through the tunnel and continue straight along the path until you reach the exit outside.

Move forward, guided by the monument. Your ultimate goal is a two-story stone house surrounded by enemies. Next to the house, there will be an entrance in the rock - go through it to enter the dungeon.

Inside, opponents will be waiting for you again. Deal with them and follow the corridors straight - there will be no forks. Eventually, you will reach the tomb with the blacksmith's soul. Interact with it using E, after which an image of Oswald and the inscription "Soul Found!" will appear on the screen. After this, you will receive a recipe for a special item - Summoning Staff. With this weapon, you can place NPCs at your base.

How to Build a Workshop and Place the Blacksmith at the Base

After rescuing the blacksmith, return to the base using fast travel and build a workshop where you need to place the craftsman. To start, use the Summoning Staff. A silhouette of the blacksmith will appear - place him anywhere convenient. A red figure - cannot be placed, blue - the territory is free.

To unlock access to the character's special abilities and new quests, build a shelter. The blacksmith's house should consist of walls, floor, foundation, door, and chests for storing items. Note: walls must be placed around the entire perimeter. In the future, you will be able to settle other craftspeople in this room. Immediately after construction, you can talk to the blacksmith.

What saving the blacksmith gives

Once Oswald is on your base and has his own workshop, you can build a forge for crafting equipment and weapons, charcoal kiln, new options for decor, furniture, and tasks from the character. To unlock access to the missions of the next NPCs, be sure to create a glider and a hook
