Dragon's Dogma 2 - a new game in the action RPG genre from the Japanese company Capcom, a sequel to the original Dragon’s Dogma. The previous part was released in 2012 - over 10 years ago. The second part was announced in June 2022, and the release date for Dragon's Dogma 2 is already set for March 22, 2024. It took the developers just 2 years to prepare the project for release and showcase it to the players - a relatively short period of time. The platforms on which the game will be released are: Windows, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. 

By the way, players can already try out some gameplay of Dragon's Dogma 2 and create their own character in the free editor. The number of variations that can be saved is 5. This feature resembles the same function that was implemented prior to the official release of The Sims 4 in 2014 - players could download a free character editor from Origin, save their hero, and then transfer it into the game after the release. 

What is Dragon's Dogma 2 About?

According to the developers' statements, the events of the second part take place in a "parallel world", unrelated to the first. The game mode is single-player, third-person. Players enter an open seamless world where they will fight enemies, improve their skills, and face challenges alongside companions. As in the first part, you can hire companions as you see fit. Before starting, you will be offered to choose a gameplay class with its own characteristics and playstyles. Here, everything follows the classics and traditions of RPGs, warriors - strong and resilient, ideal for close combat, thieves - agile and cunning, mages - long-range fighters, inflicting primary damage through spells, and so on. 

The distinctive feature of Dragon's Dogma 2 is detailed character customization, allowing you to create a truly unique hero. Each character trait will affect the gameplay. However, some players have questioned the importance of this game feature: is it really such a relevant function in an RPG that it is showcased as fundamental? Why isn't the focus on the storyline, combat system, or other innovations? Will the game live up to expectations, or has all the potential been spent on the character editor, which developers decided to present first? Will Dragon's Dogma 2 become a hot new release in the first half of 2024 or fail to gain popularity among players?
