This guide will be dedicated to the fate of Jackie, a good friend and partner of V in the game Cyberpunk 2077. From this point on, the article will contain SPOILERS related to this character. Let's go! 

We all know that saving Jackie, unfortunately, is impossible... However, the developers have given us the opportunity to make a very important choice: to send Jackie's body to his mother or to Viktor? The third option "leave Jackie and wait for V" implies the first one, as without waiting for you, Delamain will send him to his family.

What happens if you send Jackie to his mother

This is the warmest and most positive option from a moral point of view. After completing the first act, you will unlock a quest related to bidding farewell to Jackie. You will visit his home, meet Misty, friends, and family, and listen to a couple of interesting and amusing stories about your once best friend. 

This quest is very atmospheric and literally gives you goosebumps. The task is designed to say goodbye once and for all and let go of Jackie. 

As a bonus, you can get Jackie's motorcycle and his weapon (La Chingona Dorada). 

What happens if you send Jackie to ripperdoc Viktor

Victor may seem like another positive character and a good friend of V. However, not everything in this life depends on us and our actions. It so happened that Arasaka employees infiltrated Viktor's clinic and took Jackie's body away from him (you will learn about this during one of the dialogues). 

Anything related to Arasaka cannot predict a good fate for the shell and, most importantly, Jackie's soul.

Later, we will learn from Takemura that Arasaka can use the Soulkiller to create engrams not only from living people but also from the deceased... They do this to extract the necessary information. In other words, our Jackie no longer exists, there is only a fake shell with the old, confused thoughts of the guy. 

By choosing this storyline, you will be able to meet Jackie during one of the endings (when you side with Arasaka). But remember, it's just a shell with a bunch of old, stolen, and recorded data...

Also, in another ending (when Alt starts digitizing V's consciousness), you will be able to meet Jackie in your nightmare. 

Well, now you know what will happen in one situation or another. It's up to you to decide whether to say goodbye to your old friend and give his body to loved ones or send him to Arasaka's clutches.
