Chivalry 2 is a 2021 action game that will undoubtedly appeal to fans of wielding swords and facing hordes of enemies. As a brave warrior, players will participate in bloody battles and prove that they are worthy of their armor. The multiplayer mode offers a special interest by allowing players to engage in epic battles. However, it may seem too challenging for beginners.

The thing is, the basic mechanics require careful learning. Otherwise, the player will lose repeatedly and quickly lose interest in this undoubtedly intriguing game. That's why it's recommended for beginners to learn the most important tips that will make them feel like full-fledged participants in medieval clashes.

Choosing the right mode is the key to successful learning

To become skilled at playing Chivalry 2, one must grasp the game's combat system. It's best to do this in practice by engaging in battles with other live players. However, it's important to choose the right mode for training. It's not advisable to immediately participate in large-scale team battles. An unprepared fighter will be of little help to the team members and might cause their dissatisfaction. Moreover, after dying, one would have to wait a long time for respawn.

That's why the ideal option is the "Free For All" mode. It's recommended to spend at least a couple of days in this mode. That will be enough to get accustomed to the controls and understand the combat system. In this mode, each fighter fights only for themselves, and respawn happens instantly. Here, players can familiarize themselves with all the classes in Chivalry 2 and try out various types of weapons. Once the combat skills are honed enough, one can test their abilities in team battles with 48 or 64 players. Training will help newcomers avoid attacks from more experienced teammates and show that they can contribute to the fight.

Learning the basics of combat

In Chivalry 2, there's no point in participating in multiplayer battles without knowledge of the combat system. That's why it's necessary to learn it as quickly as possible. If one rushes headlong into the heat of battle, they won't derive any pleasure from it. After all, the character will be killed repeatedly.

Speaking of combat, the game offers several types of attacks: regular, slashing, and overhead. It's worth noting that all of them consume the fighter's stamina. When the stamina runs out, the character will be exhausted and won't be able to even parry the opponent's counterattacks, let alone launch their own attacks.

By the way, many beginners mistakenly put great hope in parrying and constantly use it. But it's not always advisable to do so. Parrying allows you to defend against attacks but consumes stamina. The same happens with the opponent. That's why it's necessary to use parrying wisely. It should be done in such a way that the enemy exhausts themselves before you do.

Achieving this is quite easy. It's not necessary to parry every strike; sometimes, simply stepping back will suffice. Then, at the right moment, a precise kick can break the enemy's shield. In general, it's important to carefully practice delivering kicks. It will strip the opponent of their defense and allow you to deal with them more quickly.

Understanding the Specialties of Each Class

In Chivalry 2, there are four main classes available: Knight, Footman, Vanguard, and Archer. Each class has three subclasses. The first one is available right from the start of the game, while the others unlock later. Each subclass has several variations of primary and secondary weapons. It's important to learn all the specialties before entering battle. The developers have achieved excellent balance in the game, so it's not possible to simply charge into a crowd as a Footman and crush everyone in sight.

It's necessary to memorize the appearance of each class and understand which weapons are best to use in specific battles. For example, the Vanguard starts with a huge axe, which provides damage bonuses against Knights and Footmen. This gives the Vanguard an advantage in fighting against these opponents. However, the axe is useless against Archers. The character won't even have time to reach them before being showered with a dozen arrows.

By weapons alone, one can easily identify the class. Knights wear heavy armor and wield two-handed weapons. Vanguards are distinguished by their use of two-handed weapons. Footmen go into battle with polearm weapons. Archers, of course, use bows and crossbows.

Avoiding Being Surrounded by Enemies

The multiplayer mode in Chivalry 2 is a slaughterfest involving dozens of people at once. Therefore, it's very common for your character to be surrounded and attacked from all sides. This is a guaranteed death. To avoid falling as a valiant hero, it's important to ensure that you're not surrounded by multiple enemies at once. If you see that opponents are attempting to attack as a group, you should constantly move and keep them at bay with long-range attacks. This will allow you to wait for backup or eliminate one of them. It's definitely not advisable to throw yourself into a group of enemies and try to annihilate them like a berserker. Knights in Chivalry 2 are not protected from attacks to their back or sides, so the fight won't last long.

Be Careful Fighting Side by Side with Allies

Friendly fire is a problem that has been known since the early days of multiplayer games. It exists in Chivalry 2 as well. Therefore, in the heat of battle, it's crucial to be mindful of not damaging your teammates. If you start swinging your axe amidst a crowd of team members, you might end up killing more allies than enemies. This leads to point loss and potential defeat.

That's why it's better for beginners to refrain from using slashing attacks altogether. It's recommended to first master thrusting strikes and overhead attacks. Slashing attacks will have to be learned and practiced separately. However, with mastery of this skill, you can eliminate enemies even while standing alongside your allies. Nevertheless, it's still advisable to refrain from such attacks in a tightly packed crowd.

Attack Opportunistically

In Chivalry 2, you can launch long-range attacks not only as an Archer. The game allows you to throw anything at hand towards your enemies. If desired, you can even throw your primary weapon. However, it's advisable to do so only if you have planned escape routes or if there's another weapon nearby. Therefore, it's not recommended for beginners to randomly throw their weapons at enemies. It's almost guaranteed to end in the unarmed fighter's demise.

Nevertheless, throwing weapons, when done skillfully, can be an effective way to finish off an enemy with low health. That's why it's not a bad idea to pick up any remaining weapons from the battlefield. And beginners should learn to instinctively throw their weapons before dying. This way, they might take someone down with them.

All these tips will help beginners quickly adapt to Chivalry 2 and show other players that they can make a mark in battle.
