River Ward is a male police officer in Cyberpunk 2077. He is one of the characters in the game with whom you can build romantic relationships and even engage in sexual activities. To start a romance with River, you'll need to complete specific quests. 

In this guide, we'll provide detailed information on how to start a relationship and sleep with River Ward. Let's get started!

HOW TO START A RELATIONSHIP WITH RIVER

Orientation: heterosexual. To initiate romantic relationships with him, you need to play as a female character.

First step: To start working with River, you need to progress through the main storyline quests until you encounter the "Beat on the Brat" mission. During this mission, you'll need to investigate a murder connected to a local politician. 

The mission is relatively simple and doesn't take hours to complete. Approximately in-game days after finishing the aforementioned quest (sometimes longer), River will call you and give you a new task called "Following the River." Keep track of the quest progression in your journal.

Second step: Complete the "Following the River" quest. Answer the call from River, check his message, and head to the designated location. Upon arrival, enter the alley, jump over a small obstacle, and make your way to the building where your potential lover is. Talk to him and find the correct office.

Note: To find the correct office, be near the waiting room connected to the central office.

Now, proceed with the quest and remember the following: After meeting with the doctor, choose the option "I still want to check"; when talking to Johnny, tell him everything is fine with River; during the ride to the park, you can choose any dialogue options.

Once you reach the trailer park, you'll receive the "Finding Randy" quest. Follow River into the house. After reaching Randy's room, examine everything you see around: posters, a locked cabinet (key on the shelf with the orange table), a closed nightstand (to the right of the entrance), and a laptop.

Inspect all the information on the laptop. After a thorough examination, you'll find out that Randy is located at the "Edgewood" farm. At this point, it's recommended to save your game (you can work on other mission tasks).

Now, your main task is to protect Ward from death (at the farm). Once you enter the barn, stay close to him and defend him. If everything goes smoothly, during a conversation, you'll have the opportunity to confess your affection.

Final step: Here's where we receive the final mission from River (after a few in-game days). He'll message you and offer to complete another task. Flirt with him and choose the option "See you later." 

Soon, he'll call you and open the new quest called "By the River." It's straightforward, and you'll simply have to spend a day with him until he suggests going to the water tower. Flirt with him, and you'll have the opportunity to kiss him. Immediately after that, an intimate scene with River Ward will follow. 

After a passionate night with him, you'll wake up in the morning and choose what you want more: to start a long-term relationship with River or leave everything in the past.
